While travelling, I get around 2.2 mbps maximum on my laptop DO card, but I fail to see the need for it in a phone so I generally buy the cheapest 1x phone I can get. Convergence hasn't made its way to me yet.

I may have had my DO service blocked recently at a hotel. Couldn't use it at all, not even the slower 1x data feature despite the fact that I was well within the relevant coverage map.
