This MacCallum guy is looking smarter all of the time. The Lake Tahoe area is nice. I assume the office would be in Nevada to escape CA's income tax. It's smart for THW to avoid the S.F./San Jose area if at all possible, cost-wise at least. Culturally and food-wise, it's hard to beat the Bay Area, and I don't mean Rice-a-Roni. ;-)
Even though my career in the semiconductor industry would probably benefit from moving to Silicon Valley, I couldn't maintain my standard of living without a 100% raise. Living in Vancouver is not cheap either, especially considering the higher taxes. Sounds as if the Totally Hipsters are looking for more bang for their bucks.
I got a kick out of the G&M's assertion that California's taxes are low. The hordes of Californians moving to Texas would probably dispute that. (Their main motivator is housing costs, of course, not taxes.)
