There are several ways society could deal with the obesity problem. Unfortunately govt policies currently encourage agricultural and manufacturing practices that contribute to the problem.
There really is no 'free market' just a market gamed to benefit special interests who then take some of their billions and put it back in the form of campaign/PAC contributions.
Earl Butz started many of the current food policies. He profited personally from this as well.
Ah well. If people were healthier, a lot of companies would LOSE money. Gosh, we couldn't have that could we?
