Yeah, but I was talking about the old old days.

Now it's so close it does't matter except to the most finicky :-)

Or if there are big bucks involved. I mean a few dollarm I'm not even tripping over pennies, but if I'm buying something for a million dollars (ha ha ha I dream on), that's a difference of $250 which pays for lots of bus rides - just imagine the number of deposit bottles I'd have to return for that amount!. :-)

Most cards (Or even if you go to the ATM to withdraw in the local money) charge around 3% to make the exchange. American Express, I believe, does not charge the fee, and banks like ING charge %2 for the echange withdrawal.
