The manager of the local Macy's here told me the first quarter has been "dismal"....
The owner of a very popular deli/bakery/mini supermarket I frequent says he is seeing some recovery ...but is a long way off business levels of 2008. Says lost 15% of business and most of profits with crash and only recently has seen a moderate pick up. Describes feeling better but only because he now doesn't feel like he is getting killied every day. His words.
