NIce of you to say. We had Japan neutered and surrounded. We didn't have to invade, we could have waited them out and used strategic bombing and an embargo. They had no navy or airforce left. Curtis Le May, the same Curtis Le may that ran with George wallace on his racist ticket firebombed city after city, like Sherman's march to the sea, full of innocent women, children and old people. The same Curtis Le May that wanted to bomb Cuba during the Cuban missel crises. I think if they felt they did need to bomb a place over there, they could have picked a military installation and got the same result. Not a city that only had innocent people left in it. But like I said they were finished. So did we really need to kill hundreds of thousand of innocent people through those two bombs and the fire bombing?
