That is what I am saying...geneva convention has no relevance here.

There is an important distinction between soldiers and our GaGs (Guests at Gitmo). A soldier may kill someone, but they are not murderers. When they are done with their service, you don't need to worry about them coming home and taking out the neighborhood. If we let the GaGs go it's not like they are going to go home and pick up the plow and walk away from their hatred of us.

Even if you want to call them prisoners of war, there is no justification for releasing them. Al Qaeda declared war on the U.S.....to my knowledge they still consider themselves to be at war with us. Therefore the GaGs should not be released until Al Qaeda declares "peace" with the U.S.

you do have a point about the possible results of closing gitmo. An interesting thought that it may have saved enemy lives.
