ecosystem isn't ready for any amount of money spent on general purpose GPU computation i can't believe you're seriously claiming this. given all the compiler, tool, library, consulting companies and users of them, ecosystem isn't ready for any amount of money? why don't you go repeat your googling and think about it again. it may not be at the level of downloading free vc++ express from microsoft but there is definitely enough of a software base today to do serious gpgpu development if one is interested in doing so.
