In principle, I see no difference between a bulge agreed on to be there by bipartisan witnesses and a faintly stamped "GORE" or "BUSH".

Well that's nice but what your are saying is that a bulge is an objective way of showing intent. Ok I agree, now let's go back and manually inspect every ballot including those counted by machine to make sure that no buldges (objective intent) appear on correctly punched throught ballots.

This situation is a clear overvote. Or do you have another chadolgy theory with more what if rules.

The first people to call those voters stupid were Robert Wexler and Jesse Jackson. Wexler went on TV the day after the election and talked about (ranted, actually) how he got hundreds of calls from hysterical citizens complaining that they had mistakenly voted for Pat Buchanan. Odd, isn't it?

Hundreds? In hysterics? And they all called their congressman?
