Dear Kim,

I hope a floor develops too. I want to purchase almost twice as many shares as I currently hold but this time on margin and would prefer purchasing it close to the margin limit of $5. It has been near the current high before and then retreated.

Maybe it will retreat, maybe not. It's near the high now. Who wants to buy at the historic high?

I will E-Mail you about Visibook Technologies. Thanks for asking. It was on my list of "to do E-Mail".

Thank you for the tip on SNTKY. I'll have a look. Someday, I want to see Norway. Maybe when MVIS hits $100.

Ever the optimist, but still a trader.

David -

From what I can tell this company should earn multiples of $3 - $4 million and it shouldn't be a few years out, it should be a couple of years out - these are huge markets, and there are alot of them - i.e. cellular - say they get a $20/phone royalty (probably not too far off to begin with) and they are in only 200,000/year, thats a nice $6 million profit which is about $1 share - I believe those numbers to be low for cellular and I believe you will hopefully see them in 1999. Add to that the military, medical etc. and you have a VERY profitable company!

Good luck.

I WAS A POTENTIAL BUYER, WHY WOULD A COMPANY ADVERTISE TO PROMOTE THEIR STOCK!!!! SMELLS FUNNY...

Dear Emil,
I share your view to a certain point, but then again: I am myself responsible for the Investors Relations functions in my company (a regional bank in Norway). We all face the problem that we at least want "the market" to be aware of our existence. More so a problem in the US where small and emerging companies really have to struggle for visibility.
I would expect a company to promote themselves in order to create a large base of shareholders -especially if their were to plan a capital increase (which doesn't seem to be the case with MVIS at the moment).

On the other hand: If this means that management is looking for an attractive exit level for some solid stock-option sceeme or something like that: Then the red lights would be flickering.

Though this thread I have been comforted by my position in MVIS. I am convinced that we'll be well off with a bit of patience.

Regards,

Kim

Dear Emil:

Just about every company in the S&P 500 advertises its stock - why wouldn't a company want to promote its image?

Regards,
David

David, you hit it on the nose. If you were a company that was growing rapidly and needed to expand a certain area of your business, for example engineering staff, the board may feel the best way to do this is to make an aquisition. If you make this aquistion for stock, is it not the responsibility of the company to make sure the value of the shares in the open market place are fairly priced? I have seen companies in the past that based on the value of thier respective peer group they should have been trading at twice the price they were and they made an aquisitin with stock only to have the "FAIRNESS OPINION" completed and point this out. It is the best interest of all shareholders and the company to have the common stock visible and fairly priced. Yes, when you are large and well known with many analyst following your company, this takes care of itself. At this stage of a company though, I feel it is appropriate for the company to prod along the process.

You bet I'm happy. I opened up the paper last Friday and my
jaw dropped and I let out a whoop. 50% appreciation inside of
four months. I'll take that any day.

You should see the other people in the office kicking themselves.
I was pretty messianic about the stock back then. :)

On second thought though, I was kinda pissed, as I was
planning on putting in more money if it was trading at
5 something. 7 is damn close to the initial offering price...
I'm not sure if I want to put more in at par, having already
gotten a bargain.

I bought into MVIS (my first investment) for the long haul,
because I was familiar
with the technology from the get go, and convinced that it
was revolutionary in it's potential. It was a no brainer for
me to put my money where my mouth was, and I bought in at
3 15/16ths (if I'd been able to execute my E-trade transaction
at the right point, I'dve been in at even lower). There was
no reason for the stock to be trading at that price with the
amount of cash on hand; the value of the non-cash portion was
a fifth of what it had been at the initial offering - way too
low... if you invest now, you're investing based on potential,
nothing actual. Volatility is to be expected.

I checked in here, because this is the only place on the net
where I know the stock is discussed regularly, and I figured
I'd be able to quickly figure out what could've happened (I was
thinking... major contract? Guess not. Just typical Wall Street
herd action. Damn. Everyone else has discovered my secret.)

I'm told the recent activity related to stock price could be the result of mutual funds accumuliating shares. I've heard, MVIS did a presentation for several large mutual fund companies just days before the price began to take off. I doubt at this point the price will go much beyond current levels until some contracts are announced. I've also heard that there are negoations in works with big companies who are interested in utilizing the technology for military applications. If any of these come to fruition, we should see another rise in share price in a few months time. Let's hope and hold.

curious as to who supplied the 'i'm told' info in you post? mutual fund buying usually leaves quite a mark, especially in a tiny stock such as MVIS. it looks like a couple of large buys pumped it up and MM's did the rest. I would love to believe in this company at this point, but at these levels... all i can find it hanging on is air.

at the least, there isn't even an explanation from the company as to what is the explanation of the 45% price change. don't get me wrong, opportunities often are found on leaps of faith. however, in the past the chart shows similar moves and this stock has left people holding heavy bags after the price shoots down as quick as it went up.

anyone have tangible facts to hang the price/potential on? if so, please share. would love to believe!

The I'm told comes from a broker with the company which did the IPO.
