Please clarify. Do you mean predefined lists or do you mean predefined scans?

Well they are both, apparently. I have a separate menu heading on my tool bar that is labeled "List". When I click on it and then click on the menu item "Open", I get access to a bunch of list files (.lst) which, I take it, are predefined scans, no?

The list files you see when opening the List menu item are the result of running predefined scans. However, you could also use "Lists | New " to create a list file with all of the stocks and mutual funds in your portfolio to enable you to quickly check their closing prices. Then at one time Quotes Plus came with a list of stocks in each S&P sector. If you dig a little deeper you will noticed there are far more predefined scans than predefined lists. So yes scans produce lists but not all lists are produced by scans.

New from Quotes Plus... moments ago.
--------------------------------------------------

All -

I'm happy to announce the start of a beta for our new charting software. This is a significant change from the current software.

It uses a modern gui with docking/floating windows, multiple charts/lists open at once, many new indicators, enhanced list support, etc.

This is the first step in a total rewrite of all of our software, the next step will be a full featured system tester for developing trading systems. That component should be ready for testing in a few weeks.

The software can be downloaded from this url:

qp2.com

The install program is about 2.3 meg, and will install the new chart software when you run it. It will not write over anything you currently have, your existing data, programs, lists etc. will not be touched.

This is a beta, it has some rough spots like what's a help file?

I'll answer any question on this list, and should get some screen shots and documentation out soon.

Happy trades,

Gary Lyben

Looks neat so far. But it looks like we have to scroll or select chart to find a symbol instead of just typing it. Would I be correct?

Also just for the heck of it I added an indicator how do you get rid of it?

TIA,

dom

After I posted that note I decided not to rush out and get this new file. I'm not into beta testing and don't need to spend a bunch of time fooling with something before it's really ready. Based on the nearly 40 emails I received this morning from the QP site, there are numerous bugs turning up already. Also, as I understand it, it isn't even tied into the data base for daily updates at this time. I'll wait....

In this morning's batch of email from QP I saw several notes that said they had to download it a second time. Or, that the file they got originally was not complete, for some reason. Try a new download. That might fix it. I'm in no hurry to get it, so I'll wait for a more complete program. I use MetaStock for my charting and never look at QP charts.

I've been using StockCharts and just found this one ... Quote Tracker. It has a lot of bells and whistles ..

Even Gann Fans .. Fibs .. and Andrews Pitchforks.

It's definitely worth a run around the track. Free .. and links to your brokerage account for Real Time.

I've been a Quote Tracker for several years. It's my trading vehicle. I feed it data from IB and trade with IB. QT has the best customer service in the world.... period! You'll love it.
