Hi All

After watching the stock performance and the volume in the last few days has me wondering what is going on.

Do we have loose lips about some project that KVH is involved in. I'm talking big. With the S-3 a couple weeks ago with the right for KVH to sell up to 100 million dollars in stock, they have 50 million in cash and Martin claiming that cash is rolling in from monthly subscriptions for the company.

I can't believe its TacNav, possibly a big IMU or INS contract, or could they be having a much bigger connection with Intelesat HTS program. Possibly a land / maritime connection. Martin was asked at the last cc and he wouldn't say as to the HTS program and said he didn't want to get ahead of the announcement. Also said they were going to do the announcement up big. Make a big hit with it.

Also if you look at the job hiring advertisement, it get's bigger every week. They have picked up a least 150 people and hiring more.

Any thoughts on the proceedings the last couple couple weeks/month

J

Hi J,

I don't know. They've disappointed us so much that it's difficult to read into it without a clear breakout or news event. At the same time, there are definitely clear indications of changes in the background. Changes which suggest positive momentum. The hiring is the most obvious. They also updated their promotions and it looks like they are beginning to pull back on the discounting. I could be wrong about that, however. I didn't pay close enough attention. I think they were more aggressively discounting the service plan on the v3 before and if I'm not mistaken, v11 hardware was being discounted to $40k and now it's $50k. What this suggests, if I'm correct, agile plans are taking hold and demand is high enough that they can start pulling back on the sales discounts. That said, they are still discounting. They are also continuing to add install locations for Agile plans. It's up to 41 globally. At an average run rate of 1 install per week, per location, the annual installs would now exceed 2,000. I'm convinced the agile offering is so aggressive that supply, not demand, should be the challenge. At the 2k annual run rate range, vsat service revenues should be up comfortably, over 40%, by this time next year.

Hi Bob,

so from what I gleen from your post is that management is not shareholder friendly.

I can point to a whole armload of stocks that were not looking after there shareholders.... and I have carried
water for at times... that is perhaps the beginning of wisdom.

I do remember being over at your house back circa 2001.. and at the time they had a deployment ability for munitions.... or maybe I have that wrong... but.... you it just goes to show........ it's not like they went out of business..... I have those albatross to weight me down on my daily swim in the Atlantic.

No dividend

No buyback

No retention or accumulation of shares gained from the ESOP program.

Continuous dilution of shares and instant cashing of the free shares.

They have good technology and excellent quality.

Martin tells a good story and has lousy execution.

Defense business is good but lumpy and the maritime VSAT was / is intended to provide stability in revenue.

To a degree they have gained the number one market share, but this was the company that was going to kill Inmarsat?

They lost me when they bought the programming division - off focus for a defense technology company.

Maybe you're on to something J. Today was definitely a follow through moment on high volume. Still no news, however.

here's the operator behind this move... And this is different from the large investors we have had in the past. they were mutual fund managers. Now this...

Brian R. Kahn Managing Partner Mr. Kahn is the Managing Partner and founder of Vintage Capital Management (“VCM”) and its predecessor, Kahn Capital Management (“KCM” or the “Firm”), and is responsible for all aspects of transaction sourcing, due diligence, and execution.

vintagecapitalmanagement.com

This explains the recent move up above $10 or so .. where does he go with it now?

Look at July 14 -- 240K shares in volume closed at 9.75 then the next two trading days over 550K shares closed at $10.15 on July 18.

Holds 1.495 mm shares now. the 13G filing today triggered by going over 5% threshold. they always adopt the "passive" stake in the beginning..

Its time to chat with Martin I do believe.

Look at the IEC Electronics investor presentation. slide 16. I think you will see familiar themes we have discussed here about KVH Industries...

Hi Hedge

To all, also look under Vintage Capital "About Us"

Read their investment philosophy and also investment criteria.

They don't want to spend a lot of time waiting for a payoff.

Going to be an interesting CC coming up.

Walter, do you know if Vintage was at the annual meeting.

Besides the V7/V11 hardware we assume are going to be in demand, the FOG products are about to make
a huge upside change. Not only for autonomous vehicles, but many facets of the market.

The CC should be interesting in the next 10 days or so.

AW I think that big smile we have had is getting closer, heck today made me smile. But once again, its TIME!
