KVHI Interview is interesting, IMO KVHI will be the one consolidated by a BIG player. It makes so much sense for a company like TRW to take it over. Besides an Automotive business, they have a high profile Sattelite business and a Military business which is fully complimented by all aspects of KVHI's own systems.

To be quite honest while doing research on who might take out KVHI, I've fallen in love with TRW, and I believe that they have the synergies to make the vehicle internet market come together quicker than most.

It seems unlikely to me that our small cap angel, will have the staying power of an independent company once the metrics of two way internet are rationalized inside many different board rooms. Mobile Internet will definately emerge and a company with Sattelite and ties to content or automotive will recognize the captive market of the traveller. Right now you here nothing about the Mobile Market in vehicles, it's all about PDA's and cellular applications. Entertainment content to passengers is hardly ever mentioned outside the rv market. The reasons for that are clear now, but will change rapidly.

LOR, Comsat, are among the other names I looked at.

To All on Thread,

This is somewhat off - topic.

I've just returned from a General Motors Fleet and Commercial Vehicle meeting that was quite extensive(4 days long). In one segment of the presentations the national sales manager of Onstar discussed future features.Onstar is a gps/cell phone mobile communication system.

In the latter part of this year GM will be launching a satellite that will offer nation wide radio. It will feature many stations with no advertising. It will be available on a subscription basis and offered in the 2001 models.

He referred to it as the XM channel. It is the first major radio innovation in 30 years (since the FM was introduced).

So automotive entertainment keeps getting better, but is nothing like KVHI has to offer.

I wrote I/R and asked about when the quiet period begins and when earnings were scheduled. Here is Alice's reply - which is actually a composite of two replies. Let's hope we get some news soon.

"FYI, our policy is the quiet period and suspension of employee trading begins 2 weeks before the period end and extends through 2 business days after we announce financial results. We begin our quiet period after the market close on Friday, June 16. During that period, we will continue to release any news that is consistent with our normal disclosure policies.

We have scheduled the 2nd quarter release and conference call for Thursday, July 20."
