Hi Bob,

The possibilities do allow one to dream a little. Carol, are we getting out of hand? gg

Wisconsin? I didn't think you were a snow person... unless you're into ice fishing.

Hi Roy,

I was raised in this winter wonderland.

Always thought the geese had it right to go south for the winter.

So I got there as fast as I could.

Up for a family health emergency - still very beautiful with the snowfall and my return ticket to Houston on Monday.hehehe

Thanks to both of you for the kind welcome! No, I don't think you are out of line in dreaming the big dream, it's good to be able to look at the "what if's". That is a lot of what I do when I'm investing. But, I admit forcing myself to have 1/2 of my portfolio in conservative investments (thank the gods for that), so I can't get completely carried away and blow it all when the balloon gets a hole in it and goes kareeming all over the place! I will try to contribute something worthwhile now and again, but I have mostly hung up my mouse for the time being. I only go online maybe once a week now, having gone back to making money the old fashioned way, by actually working! And, you know what, my business made the most money ever. In 1999 and 2000, I spent a lot more time online, and made much more money than working, but 2001 made me back into a workerbee, it's good to have more than one egg for those baskets.
Enough drivel,
CMM

KVH Receives STAGPARKWAY 'Peach Award'; Honored as Vendor of the Year

February 07, 2002 08:16:00 AM ET

MIDDLETOWN, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 7, 2002--

America's Largest RV Parts and Accessory Distributor Lauds KVH's

Outstanding Partnership Effort, Quality, Support, and Service

KVH Industries KVHI was named the 2001 recipient of the STAGPARKWAY "Peach Award," given each year to honor STAGPARKWAY's Vendor of the Year. The award was presented by Atlanta-based STAGPARKWAY, the nation's largest distributor of parts and accessories to the recreational vehicle aftermarket, during the organization's Magic of Success Conference held in Orlando, Florida, in January 2002. STAGPARKWAY began distributing KVH's TracVision mobile satellite TV antennas to more than 3,000 RV and truck dealerships nationwide in June 2001.

"We are extremely honored that STAGPARKWAY selected KVH for this recognition," said Ian Palmer, vice president of satellite sales. "A key to our success has always been the relationships we develop and maintain with our dealers, customers, and partners like STAGPARKWAY. It is gratifying to receive the Peach Award and have that relationship recognized along with the quality of our products, support, and service."

According to Mike McKay, vice president of sales and marketing for STAGPARKWAY, "We at STAGPARKWAY are committed to delivering unparalleled service and support for dealers and customers. That commitment has been matched by KVH Industries through its partnership efforts with us and the quality and value of the TracVision line of mobile satellite TV antennas. It was a pleasure to name KVH Industries the recipient of this year's STAGPARKWAY Peach Award and our Vendor of the Year."

Recipients of the Peach Award must develop and maintain an excellent working relationship with STAGPARKWAY, facilitate communications between the companies, create and implement an achievable plan, monitor and continuously improve performance, and foster a mutually beneficial partnership. This marks the first time that STAGPARKWAY has bestowed the Peach Award upon a first-year vendor.

Following the launch of the award-winning TracVision LM in 1999, the TracVision family has become the satellite TV antenna of choice aboard RVs, trucks, buses, and motor coaches. For entertainment on the move, the TracVision LM and the Digital Video Broadcast (DVB)-compatible TracVision L3 automatically find and track the satellite service of choice when the vehicle is in motion. The TracVision SA and the DVB-compatible TracVision S3 offer automatic satellite acquisition once the vehicle has come to a stop. These roof-mounted systems are protected under a stylish, 14.5" high, impact-resistant dome, are virtually maintenance-free, and ensure reliable, easy access to as many as 300 channels of digital satellite TV entertainment from such services as DIRECTV(R), the DISH Network(TM), and ExpressVu. Both the TracVision L3 and TracVision S3 are also fully compatible with the new TracNet Mobile High-speed Internet System and the high-powered mobile DirecPC(R) satellite Internet service, both available exclusively from KVH.

STAGPARKWAY was founded in 1968 as Stag Trailer Supply. The company was later renamed STAGPARKWAY in 1989 following the acquisition of Parkway Distributors. Currently STAGPARKWAY provides next-day or second-day service to more than 90 percent of the U.S. retail outlets for RV parts and accessories through one of the company's 11 U.S. distribution centers, making it the largest RV parts and accessory distributor in America.

KVH Industries, Inc., is a leading provider of innovative high-bandwidth communications products. Hi Roy,

These guys are very classy and seem to always JUST DO IT THE RIGHT WAY.

I'm thinking aftermarket add ons should be more powerful than the growing new RV market.

Business is good and getting better.

A peach of a stock to own.hehehe

Pioneer Consulting Predicts Total Worldwide Market Opportunity for Broadband Satellite

Market opportunity for broadband equipment manufactures will grow from $0.6 billion in 2001 to $1.6 billion by 2008, says Pioneer Consulting.

Boston/SatNews/ -- Broadband Satellite Access Service Offers the Largest Total Worldwide Market Opportunity for Both Service Providers and Equipment Manufacturers

The current state of the broadband satellite industry is not as bright as many once hoped. In fact, the very viability of the industry is a question. But according to a newly released study by Pioneer Consulting, LLC, the industry can survive. With improvements in the price / performance of broadband equipment and services, a market for global broadband connectivity will emerge.

According to Pioneer Consulting's latest report, Broadband Satellite: Analysis of Global Market Opportunities and Innovation Challenges, the total worldwide market opportunity for broadband satellite service providers will reach nearly $27 billion by 2008 with Broadband Satellite Access service comprising the largest market opportunity for a single Broadband Satellite service, soaring from $336 million in 2001 to $13.4 billion in 2008.

"The growth of broadband satellite services is expected to continue, driven by a rapidly expanding market for high-speed Internet access,"
says Mike Massey, senior market analyst, Broadband Satellite for Pioneer Consulting. "The major constraint to growth will be the relatively high cost of satellite capacity, which hinders broadband satellites competitive capability against alternative technologies.

The Broadband Access sector is also expected to represent the largest market opportunity for equipment manufacturers. The report predicts the aggregate market opportunity for equipment manufactures will grow from $0.6 billion in 2001 to $1.6 billion by 2008 with Broadband Access accounting for a market share worth $1.2 billion.

"Broadband access satellite services will find acceptance primarily in those cases where more cost effective alternatives, such as DSL and cable modem service, are not available," explains Paul Kellett, senior director of research at Pioneer Consulting. "Unlike other broadband access technologies satellite-based broadband connectivity provides ubiquitous coverage."

The Broadband Satellite: Analysis of Global Market Opportunities and Innovation Challenges report takes an in-depth look at the industry's key players, markets and technologies, as well as market opportunities and challenges. The three major broadband satellite service markets - Trunking and Backbone, Mediacasting and Broadband Access - are each analyzed identifying market opportunities for broadband service providers and equipment manufacturers for the major regions of the world - North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America and Africa and the remaining regions of the world - between 2001-2008.

Pioneer Consulting, LLC, headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts, is a leading international market research and analysis firm specializing in global, high-speed telecommunications network market research and technologies. Through its reports Pioneer provides in-depth research and analysis in areas such as: Optical Networking, Submarine Fiber Optics, Broadband Wireless Access, Satellite Systems, Emerging Broadband Access and IP Network Convergence for various Global 500 companies.

KVH Industries and Thrane & Thrane Partner to Sell Inmarsat Products in the U.S.

February 13, 2002 08:16:00 AM ET

MIDDLETOWN, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 13, 2002-- Companies Extend Existing Relationship to Include New, High-Speed, Two-Way Global Data Communication Systems for Vessels

KVH Industries KVHI announced today that it will be the primary U.S. distributor of marine satellite communications products for Thrane & Thrane, one of the leading manufacturers of Inmarsat global satellite communication systems. Under the terms of this agreement, KVH will distribute Thrane & Thrane's full line of existing Inmarsat maritime products through KVH's nationwide dealer network. In addition, KVH and the Denmark-based Thrane & Thrane will work together to introduce new products geared toward supporting high-speed, two-way data communications in the U.S. maritime market. The first of these KVH-branded products will be introduced at the Miami International Boat Show on February 14, 2002.

"The satellite communication options available to boaters are expanding rapidly," observed Ian Palmer, KVH's vice president of satellite sales. "The addition of new KVH-branded satellite communication systems manufactured by Thrane & Thrane will supplement KVH's award-winning line of TracVision(R) and Tracphone(R) marine products and enable us to meet the voice and data communications needs for virtually any vessel worldwide."

KVH's award-winning Tracphone product line provides access to phone, fax, e-mail, and data services via Inmarsat's mini-M satellite network. Since 1997, Thrane & Thrane has been the exclusive supplier of the Tracphone's transceiver unit. Through this expanded arrangement with Thrane & Thrane, KVH will soon be offering a variety of new systems designed to provide access to other Inmarsat services, including Inmarsat-C, Inmarsat mini-C, and the recently announced Inmarsat Fleet family of satellite communications services.

"We are very pleased to have expanded our existing relationship with Thrane & Thrane to encompass these exciting new products," continued Palmer. "We expect that this will be a valuable step forward for both of our companies."

When asked about its new partnership with KVH, Thrane & Thrane Marine Sales Manager Kim Gram remarked, "We have had a long-standing and very positive relationship with KVH Industries. KVH is the clear leader in the U.S. market for marine satellite communications systems, with an unmatched sales, distribution, and service network, and we are delighted to be working with them to introduce new, next-generation communications systems for mariners."

Thrane & Thrane, founded in 1981, is one of the world's leading manufacturers of terminals and land earth stations for global mobile satellite communication via the Inmarsat system. The company provides equipment for land-based, maritime, and aeronautical use. Thrane & Thrane has manufactured approximately 35 percent of the Inmarsat- compatible systems in use worldwide. Thrane & Thrane has also been selected by Inmarsat to design, develop, and manufacture the ground infrastructure that will be used by Inmarsat's next generation of satellites, scheduled for launch in 2004.
