Dear Tony: PLEASE, no talk of lunches, I am on a diet!!!
As to INTC, of which I am also a stockholder, I read the same press release as everyone else but interpreted it differently I guess. I could be 100% wrong as many of you are far more technical than I am, however I thought it could be a plus for EMC. Seemed to me INTC was considering setting up huge "Storage Factories" and would lease out the space or whatever you call that. Probably to mid sized companies or smaller I would think that dont want to set up their own. In any event, if that is a correct interpretation, I am quite sure INTC would only want the BEST systems as quality is important to their image. So perhaps EMC would be the one to set them up?? JDN

Excellent conclusion. As further evidence that Intel would not try to get into the storage business for this venture (which I never for a nanosecond believed), it came out this weekend that Intel said they would buy the servers from other companies. Now, servers are something that Intel can, and have, built in the past, including quite powerful ones. Apparently, though, they don't want to tick off the Compaqs, Dells and IBMs of the world, who are in the business of selling servers, and are their best customers. Now, if they don't build something in which they have perfect knowhow, why would they go after something in which they know little?

Burying this horse a few feet deeper...

Tony

SJS,

it depends on the split date. EMC may not get to the $130s again until post-split ($65), but i think the stock had a good shakeout and is poised to climb again and at least form a new base here in the mid $110-$120 range.

Mike,

That's what I think. I think that pre-split, it won't get near 135. However, if it does, in the next 3.5 weeks, that would be pretty amazing.

I've sold the 100 puts too (last week, for almost $5), so it's a nice W-I-D-E straddle....Those puts have decayed nicely, to about $1 now.

I think EMC parallels the NASDAQ more then anything else, what do you think? Thus I believe this new breakout to new highs on NASDAQ is extremley bullish for EMC. I wouldn't be surprised (as a matter of fact am expecting) EMC to make new highs next month. BTW when does EMC split?

The momentum looks good but the money flow on the charts is stagnent.
We could pull back here a bit before moving on.IMHO
