i would have thought that the market would have reacted positively tothe sales . so it begs the question..are there sales and why is the stock falling. last time it was because someone knew that it was a bad 1/4.. what next?
no volume and the company not buying its own stock.. do they expect it to get cheaper

Look at the sentiment and what is happening generally across the board..

Yeah..

Tough to make any sense any where other then the fact that there is hardly any good news out there and once people start to sell, there is no fine distinction.. Red all over the map today.. And since these guys are not top tier and hovering around penny status, only those willing to hold will stay.. Or traders, scalping.. Does not help that other game makers also have been under pressure last few days.. FWIW..

very true.. so many ok stocks that are to low .. maybe this will be the age of true value investment.. make money or die... to bad they tax dividends .. aklm has shown it can make cash.. i hope they make cash this 1/4 .. and buy there stock or another game company.. only do things that make cash..

Not sure what Acclaim has planned for promoting Burnout 2. I stopped by EB today, and they say they received just two copies of Burnout 2. One they sold, and the other was on display. Got to try it for a bit. Certainly enjoyable and was able to crank up over $4 million in damage when I hit the bus and got it to vear into the wrong lane and create mayhem. But didn't play it enough to see what sort of depth it had.

Best Buy had only 1 copy available. I can only assume that a larger shipment is coming, and they plan on some promotions as the quarter proceeds.

Maybe they wanted the shortage to create some excitement?

David,

The question to ask is how many did they order? Retailers may have cut back on recent orders to get a feel for how popular a game is going to be. I just saw Burnout 2 at #18 at the UK Amazon. Thats where we should send as many copies as possible. They seem to like Acclaim games. Turok has charted well over there for the last month.

What did you think of the Sony article about BO2 being exclusive for PS2. It may not only be until Christmas. I wonder what we would get to let that happen? How about Sony buying a stake in the company?

Joe

if sony does not get more aggressive then msft might buy up all the production companies and leave sony out in the dark

As far as exclusive on PS2, I am sure Sony offered something for them to say that, but maybe its just some promotion. Who knows. Whether that extends on out to 2003 remains to be seen.

I wouldn't be surprised if Sony uses them to show how good the PS2 can be if the developers work at it. The quality makes it look like an XBox game

Certainly something odd about the small number of shipments. Burnout sold well enough that they would certainly put a few of them out there if they had them. And EB was showing it off on one of their two displays, so certainly more to come. Could be that there was something that delayed putting out a large number of copies in the first run.
