Rolland,Khartet,and all:
A Near Zero growth quarter is a disappointment.I will not even try to
finesse the point. If this is what I was looking for, then I would've been
in US Treasuries. This is an emerging growth company and expectations are
for 30-40% EPS growth. So undoubtingly this was a quarter which I like to
forget real quick.
Having said this,I like to look at the silver lining:1)the stock has
already discounted a lot of that disappointment in the
price..I don't see much more room to the downside...max. to the 5
level;2)NMTX 4th quarters have historically been strong, and with
recent OEM agreements, some of these revenues may have been pushed
back;3)The CEO Mssr. Lacourciere says in the earnings release
statement that he still believes "the company can meet its overall
objectives for the fiscal year". I'm willing to give him the
benieft of the doubt. But, I'll also quickly add that his credibility is
now on the line.I don't think it's outta the question that
NMTX can have an excellent 4th quarter. We shall see, but I feel strongly
that this is now necessary to restore investor
confidence in the company.
I haven't yet received the research material from TA.Once i do ,I might
have a few more thoughts. As for the NICO,I gather we have to be
patient. It's still in "alpha experimental stage",and I suspect that
assuming FDA approval,it will take some time to start boosting the
bottom line. That's what we are all waiting for,but from the CEO's
statement I feel it's at least 3-4 quarters into the future.
As for the letter to the NMTX Board, I'd have to say I agree with much
of what was said:NMTX must address the question of enhancing shareholder
value very soon..blue chip companies such as UK and BA have already
formulated incentive plans for management..so why not NMTX? Anyone know
if such a plan already exists at NMTX?

Roland -

I last talked to Gene a few months ago. At that time, he didn't really have anything new to say about NMTX, although he continues to like the company. What do you think of the earnings - basically flat from a year ago. What were you expecting? Are you still bullish on these guys? I have never bought, but I continue to keep my eye on it. I've tried three times to schedule an appointment with Lacourciere, spoke to his secretary each time, but he never called me back. That kind of dimmed my enthusiasm. Maybe I'll try a fourth time.

Greg,

Very nice hearing from you. Thanks for the reply. You asked what my opinion of the earnings is - this is what I posted over on the Yahoo message board. I do prefer this one BUT the other did at least have a bit of "talk" going on. In any case I wrote this reply to another poster:

Kartet,

You are a very "forgiving" investor. Missing projected earnings by 33% is NOT what I consider "not bad!" I have written a letter to the BOD. Some EXCERPTS follow (I'm refraining at this time from pasting the meat):

BEGINNING OF LETTER
To the Directors of NMTX:

......Please reference the H. von der Luft 7/14/97 Initial Buy, STRONG BUY, ANALysis and recommendation.

WHO gave him these figures? These projections? ..........

Management is not qualified to take our company to the NEXT level. .............Shop the company to one more qualified.

.......... The 3rd Qtr release quotes Lacourciere, "The Company remains very optimistic about our sales opportunities and expects revenues will rebound in the fourth quarter and that the Company can meet its overall objectives for the fiscal year." This objective as published by TA is revenues of $32,000,000 and EPS of $.33. With $22,250,000 and $.18 to date, you are almost TEN MILLION DOLLARS away and $.15 EPS away.

You missed this 3rd quarter by over a million$$. The EPS by 50%!!.......In other words in order to realize $32,000,000 by FYEnd 98, we need to see $9,750,000. The real shocker!!? You gotta do $.15 more per share to go with the $.18 in order to attain $.33. No WAY!!!...........

....on, and on, ...and on........You have many shareholders out there which are sitting with 38% paper losses down from the Luft STRONG BUY up to $9.50.

Lacourciere says, ''NICO (is presently undergoing alpha testing at several clinical sites. We continue to plan the introduction of this product for the fall of 1998 with shipments to customers beginning in the second half of our year ending May 2, 1999.'' As long as he keeps putting the date "OUT further" he is getting closer to the truth. Even this statement gives him breath. Why not state, "starting by November 1998"? There isn't even mention of NDA filings. Afraid someone will notice and try to buy us? Let it happen - give them the hyped up $10 to $12/share.

I am sooooo disgusted with present management that if it weren't product potential and future growth I would have bailed years ago. ........(it was here that I got nasty).................And you call him your leader!

Another question. Who leaked this news to the street? Isn't this illegal? Someone had enough sense to bail before the announcement. OTOH, over 200,000 shares went of "after" the release.

One last question. When can I expect the flurry of monthly, then weekly, news releases to begin. Do you anticipate "new" OEM announcements or simply hyped reiterations?"
END OF THE LETTER

Kartet, be careful. Your opinion is valued here, but please be accurate. I wish nothing for NMTX but a substantial upside movement. They will eventually hype it up again. That is their job. Ours here is to simply discuss our impressions. I hated this earnings news release, those that sold over the previous week must have know and hated it, as well as the 200,000 shares which sold immediately after the release was public.

Yoo say not bad. Whew!!!! You are correct about one thing though, this is the bottom. It will now go up, way up. Wait and see or take advantage of this buying opportunity.

Roland

BACK TO YOU GREG, It does not surprise me that Bill L doesn't return your calls. He does not respond to my numerous mailing during the year. He will only make noise when his job security is threatened.

I am curious if Gene Cilli has an opinion on these earnings. Personally I cant see them making his nor Tucker Anthony's $32,000,000 projection.

The valuation is compelling. I'm still watching it.

Keep me updated.

Duke,

Still "watching" it - implying that you continue to be sitting on the sidelines. That is safely conservative. This does seemed to be a great time to get in, at the bottom.

What does "valuation is compelling" mean? You like the idea of this as an entry point? Are you more into TA verse fundamentals?

Roland, another disappointing quarter for NMTX. Glad I sold at 9+. Looking at the Z warrants now. Hope Mr. Lacourciere can deliver good results for the fourth quarter...

Bill,

Disappointing is not the word for it! Flagrantly misrepresented himself and NMTX to the Tucker Anthony analyst von Luft and Virgil Cilli of Keane Securities. These 2 groups went out on the limb for CEO Lacourciece and saved his ass last year. They must have many clients which are ready to "cash 'em in". His ass will be on the line this year big time.

Both he and company legal representative Thomas Haythe are up for Board re-election this fall. Steve Shulman, also a Director is floundering big time. The NICO filings and product launch have continually been "put out" just a little longer. Always a different excuse. He must perform very soon!

I anticipate a series of news releases to start flowing almost any time soon, at least as we go into early summer and down the time line to the Annual Shareholder's Meeting.

Share price has no place to go but up. Let's enjoy the ride.

Bill and all lurker and posters,

Two up days in a row (volume and price). Almost a gain of 20% from last weeks 5.75.

Looks like someone must be thinking so. The volume and price increases recently are a bit strange considering the 3rd quarter numbers. I dont know how you feel about this but I start to "question" the saniety of a buyer OR does some one "know something".

Like Tucker Anthony or Keane Securities. If it is their clients increasing their positions then they've been told. Insiders?
Poster tend to be tight mouthed folks, but it would help if we could share a bit.
