WavePhore<WAVO.O> expands service, trade volume up

PHOENIX, Dec 23 (Reuters) - WavePhore Inc., a news and Internet broadcast services provider, said Wednesday it had signed expanded information agreements with two leading Web providers.

News of the agreement spurred a flurry of trading activity as its shares gained 1-5/8 at 8-3/4 on a high volume of almost 4.7 million shares by mid-afternoon Wednesday. Its average daily volume is about 3.3 million shares.

WavePhore WaveTop and Warner Bros. Online launched last week, The Warner Bros. Online Theater on WaveTop (http://www.wavetop.net).

The theater offers a 'virtual movie theater', where home personal computer users can watch selected clips from unique Warner Bros. properties.

News America Digital Publishing also signed an agreement to provide the WaveTop service with information from Fox News Online and Fox Sports Online.

WaveTop's electronic commerce and advertising-supported service also provides multi-media programming, including news, investment advice and information, children's programming, weather and free software downloads, all supplied by Web content providers.

WAVO did not Rally into the close due to insufficient volume increase. I still expect a nice gap up in the morning.

Eric,

I agree with a lot of what Lynn's been saying here, and I got burned in that Cramer mess, too, but I no longer have a WAVO position because (a) I can't short the stock and I can't predict where the shares a going to trade from one day to the next, making it (in my opinion) a dangerous short in any case and (b)I've had nothing but trouble getting Wavetop to run and from what I've seen I could just as easily go online without the hassle of leaving the PC on to collect files and the problems I've had installing both the tuner card and software. There have been a lot of thoughtful comments made here, and I think they've been helpful, but there is still a lot of risk in this stock, as there has been in the three years I've traded it.

I hope you make a fortune on this stock;I made a profit and consider myself lucky. For the short-term, this stock will require more study of market timing than I care to spend. Certainly I hope the company does well, but as far as the stock is concerned, I'm avoiding it. I hope you enjoy the Holidays, they're gone way too quickly!

Regards,
Dave

Cramer speaks

I'm not the smartest guy around, could someone explain to me what he's trying to say here...

Wrong!

Rear Echelon Relevations

In 1998 I shared with you my anger over things I did wrong and others did wrong. I tried to use the medium to communicate a sense of the atmosphere and of my own foibles and successes. Mostly I just tried to tell it like it is, like I saw it. Sometimes my life became too much of an open book, partly because of the site. I found myself, for instance, in the WavePhore ( (Nasdaq:WAVO - news) ) incident, at of the print journalists, none of whom even got what the heck I was talking about (only three journalists did not take me to task and two of them were on-liners) and I showed my hurt to you. I keep thinking that after thousands of columns here trying to show you what is going on -- without trying to sell you anything or make you buy anything or tout anything -- the off-liners would make their peace with me. But no, step out of their line, and all of that good stuff is for naught with the dead-tree guys. Yeah, still makes me sick to my stomach. Others in the financial media just tend to ignore us altogether if they are not criticizing us. All I can say is, ignoring us makes us stronger and more resolved to prevail.

P.S.
Do you think he means Revelations not "Relevations" Maybe his spell checker does not work...

This isn't news on WAVO, its news on SkyMall. WAVO is only mentioned in SKYM's company release because as a person on the SKYM team, Goldman, was once Senior VP of WaveTop for two years. From the article you cite the URL for:

>For the two years preceding, he was senior vice president and general manager of WaveTop, a
>consumer data broadcast product line of WavePhore Inc. (Nasdaq:WAVO - news). Goldman
>brings a wealth of experience in building new media companies. At WaveTop, his responsibilities
>included new business development and creating content partnerships. Previously, he co-founded
>Shoppers Express, the first Internet-based grocery-shopping service. In addition, he has held senior
>executive positions at Turner Broadcasting Systems Inc. and Actmedia (acquired by News Corp.).
