I've had maybe a couple of PMs from him. Seems like a very nice guy, but his prognostications with respect to CDMA and Q really have been off the wall through the years.

I think you could characterize most of our prognostications the same way. Mr. Market has a way of making anyone with a fixed bias, bullish or bearish, look foolish over time.

Slacker,

Top 5 GSM carriers? Couldnt find it on the web quickly....but here is a guess.China Mobile, Vodafone, Telefonica, Deutche Telecom, China Unicom. Obviously China Unicom would be the most likely candidate. Hopefully, they arent among the top 5 GSM carriers.

Not bad.

No kidding.

In the pantheon of the biased, Pieczyk was a much greater fool than Tero. Naturally, I liked his bias a lot more than Tero's.

RE: CNBC: Bet first question for Dr. IJ tomorrow (if he is going to be on) is about his upcoming stock sales. In fact, I bet they ask more questions about that, (again if he is on) than anything else - like their fabulous results. Thinking about this, if I were him, I would decline to come on.

I wonder if the sales are a prelude to his retirement. He mentioned estate planning, so he's obviously thinking about what lies beyond the Q horizon.
