He didn't say "streaming media to 100 users" anywhere in the article. What he did point out is that you get a lot more capability with Snow Leopard Server on a Mac mini than you do with Windows Home Server on any Windows box; and that if you want to get big-time capability from Microsoft, you will pay big-time - even if you run it on a cheap Windows box.

The table on the first page summarizes the cost issue.

Is there something wrong about hyperbole when it's warranted?

:-)

He's using "streaming media" as a key feature and "100 users" as his pricing comparison.

Hey man, if it meets your needs, buy one! Nobody here is going to conclude you're an idiot for doing so.

:)

If you could show similar respect for people who clearly understand it won't meet their needs, that'd be great, too.

Cheers.

made me delete iTunes as well as Google toolbar before I downloaded.

Huh? Those programs are unrelated to downloading anything.

None the less, had to delete and reinstall. Back up and running.

Eyemodule2? You still use that pixel deprived Borg lens?

The Eyemodule2 is a dinosaur, but I do still use it, and finally getting some notice...

Baloney! Talk about imaginative parsing!

What bugs me even more is that you guys don't even acknowledge that Snow Leopard Server is a full-up, no holds barred, Unix Server with a Mac-like GUI. Apparenty it's that Mac-like GUI that turns it into a toy in your eyes.

Thank you!

:-S

I don't recall claiming it would meet everybody's needs. But hey, each to his perception.
