In iPhoto, it does not appear on the sidebar..

I've been using the Photostream thing to sync photos into iPhoto. Do you get that option?

Have you iCloud-ed? It might require…

Sheesh…this stuff is less intuitive than it should be. (it works, but a little clumsy)

BTW: DropBox just added a nice feature that auto asks if you want all your pix loaded into it automagically from your iPhone. You then get a nice web shareable hi-res gallery auto built for you.

Apple would be wise to emulate DropBox.

There may be a preference setting that got changed in your case, but no, the iPhone still syncs pictures to the computer using iPhoto. I'd look in the iPhoto prefs.

I'm not clouding.

Back in the olde days when dinosaurs roamed the Earth - eh, like less than a year ago - all I had to do was plug in the iPhone and bida-bang iPhoto would open and click everything downloaded.

It doesn't do that any more for the old fogeys?

Kids nowadays need this "cloud" thing when all I want to do is walk uphill both ways in 30 feet of snow in my bare feet - what's wrong with that? And why do they have to "cloud" on **my** lawn???

Turn photo stream and/or iCloud off before you sync with your computer. Turn it/them back on after syncing with your computer. I had the same issue. Relatively easy fix.

Back to my man-cave. :)

Problem solved - not expected from a Mac, but it just needed a reboot which it didn't have for ages.

The only freaky thing I do with this iMac is run a zillion external harddrives (including a Pegasus Thunderbolt) and have another zillion computer disks mounted over the network - oh yeah, the freakiest is that I run MS Office and Outlook.
