OT: NOK at these levels is an unprecedented opportunity, and one that I took advantage of pre-market today, @4.17. :)

HELSINKI (AP) -- Moody's ratings agency downgraded Nokia's debt grade to near junk status on Monday,
citing a sharp decline in first-quarter cellphone sales that led to a 35 percent fall in revenue.

>>Nokia Lumia 900 Review<<

Two things stood out for me. The first was how much better the iPhone 4S camera is, in sharpness, color rendition, and dynamic range. I also found it interesting to see how thoroughly the iPhone trounced all competition in the performance tests.

But overall, the Nokia 900 looks good, and Windows Phone 7.5 doesn't suck. So Microsoft has learned a few things, even though they are very late to this party. I think this phone and its siblings will take some market share away from Android, but not so much from iOS.

Append "to sell our ads" to the end of that.

If you think Lumia is a good phone than it would take away market share from iOS because there is a huge percentage of people in the world that will be migrating to smart phones. But I believe you are right that 99.9% of people who own an iPhone will not migrate to a Lumpia.

Apple is creating an electronics Oasis Within Walmart

Apple helped Walmart build a store-within-a-store oasis for Apple products in the home state of the chain’s founder Sam Walton.

We broke the news earlier this year that Sams’s Club is exploring Apple Store-within-a-store concepts. This weekend, Apple retail news website ifoAppleStore posted numerous pictures from a Walmart in Lowell, Ark., which owns and operates Sam’s Club, that depict Apple displays within its walls akin to Best Buy’s lavish store-within-a-store creations.

An image gallery is below.

I still don't understand Amazon's strategy here. If they sell Kindles at a loss in order to sell more ebooks, and they sell the ebooks at a loss in order to sell more Kindles, at what point do their margins improve?

I think, ultimately, they want to become the publisher... and capture those margins as well.

Brin voiced concerns that this closed approach prevents companies like Google from accessing the information stored on the companies’ networks, possibly revealing one of the main causes for his position. ”There’s a lot to be lost,” Brin said. “For example, all the information in apps, that data is not crawlable by web crawlers. You can’t search it.”

Don't you just want to say "Brin get your F'ing crawling nose out of my private business!".
