OT

Kind of looks like Richie Hugh Blackmore with short hair.

Having followed you on this thread for years it's probably somebody fairly obscure.

There is one big difference between iPod/iPad domination and iPhones not dominating.

The carriers.

Yep. Apple is a true consumer (end user) product company. Anything that gets in between Apple and the end user screws up the model (including IT guys on the PC side).

I'm hoping for a smartphone that is universal and you can buy data and/or minutes by the pound, from anyone.

:-)

Help me out here. What's the pain threshold for AAPL shorters now?

I would assume:

It hurts.

A lot.

Funny, I never thought of that colon until you intimated to it in your post. Or, -until you intimated in your post.

>>iMonitor<<

Except it's not going to a monitor. It will be a television. The difference being the inclusion of a tuner or tuners. But maybe it won't have the tuners, anyway. That's also possible.

" And of course two, Microsoft and Nokia's Windows 8 tablet. Could be an easier upstream swim for them, given the army of Windows lovers who hate anything Apple, yet saw nothing special in Android either, up to now."

I just installed Windows 8 on my laptop-- will report back once I put it through the paces, but my first impression is it's usable, but there's not a lot there so far to make it worth the learning curve. Speaking from the standpoint of a mouse/keyboard user.

>>I'm going to have to respectfully disagree on your conclusions. Not to say that you are both not right on your conjectures, you MAY be, but I disagree that your conclusions are carved in stone.<<

I can live with that. As always, anyone who wants to is free to disagree with me.

You've been right in the past when we've disagreed, and I've been wrong.

That army is getting much smaller, due to desertions and such.
