"Meanwhile, VZ wants $30 a month for 2 GB of data for an individual plan"

If you do the math, you are paying $40 a month for data on an individual plan from Sprint ($79 is $40 more than the $39 Sprint charges for the comparable voice only plan).

The extra $10 that Sprint charges includes unlimited texts, and it's absolutely worth it for individuals who use more than 2 GB /month, but that's rare.

For family plans, Sprint wins, hands down.

I wish I could get something more than $15 for my crappy Samsung phones. Sprint will send them all to the recycling bin. Who knows what will happen from there?

Apple phones really don't depreciate. In fact, they create value over time with new software upgrades that keep making them more relevant.

Every time Samsung comes out with a new phone, they have different power cords, different form factors, and a bunch of other nonsense. The value goes to zero over time.

There is no value added for Droid phones. $15 recycle values says it all!

Every Android phone I have ever seen has a micro USB power cord.

Thanks, I never saw the voice plan rate for VZ, so I guess it's not too much different.

One thing I realized about the iPhone today that I hadn't thought of before - ATT plans to use recycled iPhone deals to buy back $600 iPhones from a year ago, package them in a pre paid plan, and make a nice profit off that deal. Meanwhile, people getting new phones for $100 will be delighted to get the new technology.

VZ can do the same trade in offer to start building an inventory of their pre paid customers. Sprint's just getting started, so they will have to wait for the next iPhone to start building a secondary channel of iPhone customers.

Very slick arrangement that US carriers with Apple to protect the value of their cap ex for iPhones. It just keeps getting easier for Apple from here!

Indeed, Droid phone use a USB charger. What about the previous generation like the Samsung Instinct? I have mismatching cords for all my Samsung phones going back to 2003. LG did the same thing too. All they did was promote trash and waste, so they could keep nickling and diming their customers.

USB cords are now universal for Sprint Droid phones, but they suck. The tips bend and break off. I can't see the USB hole. If I ask my kid to plug in your Droid while I am in the car, it's like throwing $40 out the window. They jam in the cord and bend the USB tip.

Also, I have to play with my USB charger in the car for at least a minute or two to get the phone to respond to the charger. If I'm lucky, it doesn't shake loose and keeps charging the phone while I'm driving around town.

Cook said the number 1 reason that people went from Sprint was the iPhone. As a customer of Sprint for the past 10 years, my number 1 source of dissatisfaction was power cords and horrible battery power. Just because Sprint phone makers are all using the same cord today, it's still my number 1 source of dissatisfaction. The USB cord is the worst one they have developed so far!

I never really had a problem with previous chargers at Sprint. I was just frustrated that every time I got a new phone, I had to spend an extra $40 for a new cord. At least the old cords worked, kinda. Now, I could use the same cord if I bought a new Sprint phone, but the universal USB charger breaks before I get a new phone. So, I'm still shit out of luck with all the car chargers from Sprint. My solution has been to basically stop using my Sprint phone this past year and wait for the iPhone.

The iPhone solves all my problems with cell phones going forward. I get the same form factor, power cord, battery power, iOS, and a good trade in value if I ever want to upgrade. Sprint laughs at me when I ask them for a trade in value for my phones. Now, they are offering $15 recyle credits. I'd rather be getting a $200 trade in like Orion for my Droid. Not gonna happen!

The article mentions his son as a younger version of himself.

Is he the next Tony Stark?

Or is he going to stay away from technology altogether?

I just want to be a dentist.
