RE: "I really hate to see you guys underwater..."

Spending some time underwater is part of my strategy. How far under and how long are how dues are paid.

If I understood it correctly, CNBC report (Cashin I believe) that a major German bank or fund cashed $20 Billion dollars worth of German Bond then bought US stock with the $20B. They are feeling the US will lead the way up from here.

Stan, I spent about 10 minutes looking and found nothing on this story. But I read in a German online paper that a drop in Fed rates would be good for the US$ because it would help US stocks. So it could make sense for a German bank to invest in the US markets.

I found two somewhat related articles.

Stan

The German market received an extra shot of confidence Tuesday on talk that a large market participant had moved around EUR5 billion in assets out of two-year Schatz notes and into equities.

"We are getting some talk of further rate cuts by the Fed, and that is certainly helping the market," said Owen Fitzpatrick, head of the U.S. equity group at Deutsche Bank Private Banking, which oversees $7 billion. "People are hoping additional rate cuts are going to help the economy and save us from going into another recession."

Stan, the 'two-year Schatz notes' must be German treasury notes because 'Schatz' means treasure.

PS: CSCO up almost 8% ah
