Well, if this is true, we need to tell jtechkid and Big Bucks
to start posting twice as many messages. That should give us
a real kickstart. Just think, the higher we go, the more
negative posts there should be.

*** OT OT OT *** to Brian,

Re: Just curious, how do you rank CYMI along with some of the others in the equips, namely LRCX, UTEK etc? There appears to be a fervor surrounding CYMI at the present rivalled probably only by IOM a few years back. Do you feel this unbridled enthusiasm is justified for CYMI. Looking at getting in, but do not want my decision to be colored by all of the hype.

1. CYMI: UT/DPMI story has brought out a few more believers that CYMI's rapid growth cycle will last for at least another 6-8 years; that EUV, XRay won't supplant DUV anytime soon. I had this view prior to the story. So, I'm biased, have a position and didn't feel the $15 price was fair value.

2. UTEK is also at a low. 3 things will drive its growth - DD sector transition to MR and GMR; Mask making industry - PLAB is putting the first V2000 into production, $7M per tool with 3 more firm orders in hand; PGILD will significantly drive up revenues once transition to .18æm is in full bloom. Maybe its mix and match lithography business will grow when the chip sector recovers, maybe not.

3. LRCX is almost a turnaround story. Its current Price/ X ratios are near all time lows, so one should do well once the recovery becomes visible.

We shouldn't forget that AMAT IS the 900 lb gorilla. I wouldn't want to be caught without it again.

Ian.

GM,

<PS: interesting observation by Ken P.: the more negative posts,
the better the stock does.
>

This makes a lot of sense, I have always viewed the "bears" as my safety net.<G>

i'm not negative just realistic-i love amat have made a fortune on the stock-great company in a very cyclical business -my point i'm tring to make is semi management really do a bad job in forecasting and we are in a downcycle that will not produce no growth this year -yes no growth-and not great numbers-people forget 1996-when amat got destroyed and traded at 12 pre split-i don't believe its that bad but what gets me concerned is asia melt down we are in the eye of the storm and if japan go deeper into trouble we should see a domino effect were europe will be the next -it could get ugly-at 3x sales in a downward cylce just seems no reason to bid the stock up and it will end ugly-if amat trades 2xsales its 22-as i have stated before in most down trends semi's bottom around 1x trailing sales-check 1996-2 years ago -i'm not negative but from some of you are not paying attention that we are not a short term bull mkt mkt for semi's earning will not be good for next 6-9 months-so when the stock goes to 20-28- you have seen the signals-don;t believe the market.

Brian... when the us was bloated and suffering from being non-competitive, it took years of rationalization to put it right, in the UK the same was true... why in gods name to you think that in SEA its going to be over in a couple of months. the situation is that there is almost no domestic demand because wealth is so consentrated and that capital has become lazy and inefficiant... for it to get better inefficiant producers are going to have to fail... this has not happened yet... thus we are at the begining not the end.

Jtechkid,
Your comments show that you really don't understand the markets. Never make that kind of statements with certainty. If markets don't know what is going to happen, neither do you. If you were so sure, you would short as many shares as you could and become rich, no need to waist you time here, hah?
