FT if they can't take a joke! I liked the action today, I hope it is not an instant replay of two weeks ago when GTW went up 7 and then pulled back. The Bear Stearns buy reiteration is very positive since Andy Neff is highly regarded.

I don't even know what proprietary dram is. Is it fair to say that hwp means Hewlett Packard?

If you are referring to the hardware system I have an Epson Color Printer, Hewlett Packard Scanner, the modem is intel pentium and the keyboard and monitor have Gateway labels---see no other identifications readily visible.

Very easy to use. I can easily update and upgrade programs instantly. I.E. the virus program, i keep updating regularly.

Does this come close to answering your question?

I am not knowledgeable on the technical aspects of computers---know how to apply and use the software.

mj, compaq and hewlett charge 50-80% more than market for the dram that goes in their systems. i was wondering if gtw had caught on to this "marketing" program or whether they respect their customers.

July 3, 2000 [09:27 ET] Gateway (GTW) 57: PC maker delaying shipment of Thunderbird-based PC after discovering glitch that causes the Thunderbird processor to seize up, according to SG Cowen; AMD believes that problem is specific to Gateway; circumstances suggest that the problem may lie with Jabil (JBL), which custom-designed motherboards for Gateway.
