<<Because I have 25 years of experience working for the state

Of course you prefer govt solutions, to admit that the private sector might be better at some things would require questioning how you spent your life.>>

I knew you would say that. That is just such nonsense. How can you stand to even live in that world is what I don't understand. Don't you have any need to be logical or live in the real world. It is just attack , attack, attack, with the first thing that comes to mind.

I have spent my life trying to be an honest person and informed. You don't even consider it might be because I know the field e.g. social theory and worked in the field. You just make an assumption like some drunk in a bar.

I also worked for the last 25 years selling and investing in real estate. Private sector and I was always in the top 10% of agents. So in your mind my government work totally affects my thinking, but my experience in the private sector has no affect?

You really need to think about things a bit more before you speak. Did you teach your children to think like that? Make wild assertions without facts or logic and disregard science.

Good lord, what a horrible way to live.

<<When I was in the army I peeled potatoes and cooked and it worked fine. Waste of money!"

Yes it makes all the sense in the world we train these people to do highly skilled jobs and use them to peel potatos which can be done by a machine.. And you consider yourself a worthy planner. It's a wonder Alaska still exists.

Have you ever looked at how much Haliburton charges us to peel those potatos and cook those hamburgers.

Bush vetoed a pay raise for the military saying they did not need a raise.

The contractors, even cooks, are paid 6 figures or more and the military about $25,000. A 1/4 of that.

So the contractors make hundreds of thousands a year and the military only a fraction of that doing the same job.

How do you think the military people feel getting a fraction of the pay the contractors are getting fo rdoing the same job??

I can tell you they are not very happy about it. so who side are you on. How about paying the military more
and using less contractors?

I actually do live in the real world. Are you sure that you do? As an existentialist how can you know?

The above sentence says nothing. It is like a kid arguing, "sos your old man".

You are not a serious thinker. You take no time to figure out stuff and will just say anything.

You do realize little Joe that Bush refused to raise the military's pay, and it was one of the first things Obama did!

C'mon koan. that article is written so even someone with a 6th grade education can understand it. Do you have a 6th graders understanding of the Constitution? I even highlighted the various bullet points for you.

"lower-skilled recruits could use the machine for less than Haliburton charges, no?"

We have a volunteer army and I doubt the government wants to hire potato peelers and I doubt that Halliburton employees are peeling potatoes, but with Koan who knows whether what he says is made up or not.

"and your point is"

You forget Koan I am not a Republican, nor am I a Bush fan. I just happen to find Obama even worse than Bush.
