I have disabled iPad/iPod editor features for now, so what you are seeing is the "RawText" mode (plain text)

Brad,
On Kindle Fire this opened to SI Editor with white page but no keyboard. When I hit Raw Text, the green page opened properly and ... you can see I have the KFire keyboard.

Not sure what you've done Brad... but my Android now messed up for posting... NO icons (including RAW text which was all that worked before on my phone) appearing now..
now using CHART syntax not working from my desktop :o( HELP!!!

When I Replied to your message, I got a black screen with the 5 rectangles (1 green scrolling), so I refreshed the page, and got the normal light green background to prepare and post this message.
