No, the copy function has never greyed out in the reply screen. Originally, everything about "copy" seemed normal. The highlighted words remained highlighted. It just wouldn't "paste". A new twist is that the highlighted words themselves now grey out as soon as "copy" is clicked when the "copy and paste" function isn't working. At times, when "copy and paste" isn't working, I can go through the process four or five times and it will finally work. I don't know if that procedure would always work because sometimes I just say the heck with it and move on to something else.

You're right. Using ctrl-c seems to be the solution. Hasn't failed yet anyway.

On iPad when I try to paste an SI post url into an SI post, it mis-converts the beginning and end of the url as 2 links. I have to go back to my PC to edit it to post it right.

For the url for Reply 718 on this thread here is the url pasted from a PC

It looks like iPad is trying to be helpful by converting the msgid on the URL into a hot-linked telephone number. That stinks, it's not even a phone! I'll see if I can find a workaround with the next release of the editor.

Apple didn't think that "feature" through very well. Seriously, who puts an = sign in front of an 8-digit phone number??

Thanks for reporting it.

For now I think you can avoid the problem
(1) by not using "RawText" (the new OS works with the regular editor)
(2) not editing your post after you submit it for preview.

At least that worked on my iPhone (haven't tested the iPad but I assume it works the same way).

I sometimes need to post lengthy, large, charts which apparently exceed the limits which can be handled by SI Upload...and am forced to go back to my old trusty Fotothing and post the URL enclosed by the chart tags..Any fix would be welcome..

Right now we are resizing anything bigger than 967 pixels, but I can increase it.

Will your images always be less than 1100px wide?

The reason we have the limit is to keep GIANT images from creating a horizontal scroll bar for everyone reading the message board. It can really mess up the display of multiple messages, especially for mobile devices.

The image is a .png image and being re-sized by SI, and it's not handling the image well. There are online services that you can re-size your image then upload them. Or you can use MS Paint, Photoshop, Photoshop Elements to manually re-size the image so you don't loose detail. jpg should re-size fine with SI. Try Paint, all versions of Windows have it. Re-size then upload and your problem is solved. I re-size all the time with Photoshop.

Also, I believe the max width is 900 pixels wide, if you can keep the capture 900 pixels wide or less they will show up fine. I am not sure if the new editor Brad is working on will fix this, I will run it past Brad.

But in the meantime try Paint. (I don't think Windows XP version of Paint will re-size, just Windows 7)

Edit: I just seen Brad answered it.

Brad I think it's safe to go wider, most notebooks are all wide screen and all new monitors are as well. I don't think you will have many problems going up to 1100 pixels wide for images. What do you think?

Okay, I bumped up the tolerance of uploads to 1160 pixels. Anything larger than that will get resized down to 960.
