The half-life on the gold take-downs seems to be shrinking.

It is even more dramatic in the miners. a lot of people sold last week's rally and were waiting for the dip. once they stopped going down, buyers stepped up. we are back to buy the dip.

Europe's problems aren't going to affect the thousands of well run, dividend paying companies out there. The stock market is about companies, not people, politicians, disease, teenage sex, wind power, etc.

Thanks for clearing that up <g>

What I'm talking about is the overt management of the market. And Europe is in recession and that will impact all those companies.

Just when you think it's not possible, PPT has once again outdone themselves.
This has to be their finest and most blatant work ever
Unadulterated manipulation done only out of sheer panic.
They broke the glass and pulled the lever

SB,

Yep, they are concerned. Seriously. I'm kinda surprised they didn't bring out three today, as three is better than two, and two is better than one.

And yada, yada.

And the market drinks it up like quality scotch.

But, they are seriously, seriously concerned about that air pocket they know they created.

Yep, and all on hot air from a Fed Dovernor. Eff that, it'll get sold in less than a day. <NG>

The 20 point rally on the Spoos was quite amazing, too.....

Companies and their profits are inherently more robust than their investors and employees. The government tries to increase confidence in the markets for sure but if a bunch of weak hands want to fold then let them. Hedging an investment portfolio is one thing, betting against the stock market is foolish.
