Stihl makes a very nice little number, a 180. I use it all the time to limb and cut the smaller stuff. My Farm Boss weighs 13.5 lbs, before fuel. I have to pace myself with that one or I gets tarred! :)

AC,

I bought another brand last summer after my 15 year old saw died. That new one, from Home Depot, lasted all of four hours. And you know what, the people at HD knew it was junk. Not a question about it failing. Not ONE question.

So I bought a different brand for $50 bucks more and it runs like a clock.

But Stihl is near the top.

hmmm look what the bernak said:

BERNANKE: "Sustained high rates of government borrowing would both drain funds away from private investment and increase our debt to foreigners, with adverse long-run effects on U.S. output, incomes, and standards of living. "

JM,

Agree. Hard lesson learned on another gas powered nightmare.

I pay up for the Shell, "Top Shelf" or whatever it's called gas standard. And it's made a big difference. Single pull starts and all that.

marinas and a few stations here carry ethanol free. a small stihl or husky can be had for a little over 200. take it in for new gas lines and buy a new chain and you've spent over half of that. almost pays to buy a new one every few years. never leave ethanol gas in one.
