Hey you can buy furniture with nothing down and 0 interest and no payments till 2015!
It is ALL about ZIRP and if that fails there is always a good war to have people buy to be patriotic

On a related note, I saw a story yesterday that homebuilder, flush with cash, are starting to buy up land again. Of course, many are flush with cash from the NOL extension Congress gave them a couple years ago. So taxpayers are subsidizing homies purchases of land. Perhaps some are even buying back land they previously paid too much for and then lost.
