....from one of those Market Realist series

Koduri stated that in Power Saver mode, the RX Vega 64 delivers 35% more power efficiency while sacrificing performance only 4%

.....if true, the 12nmLP process will provide quite a kick.............I wonder if AMD had the option to use TSMC 16nm how things would have turned out..............for both CPU and GPU.............there can be a 10% to 15%
performance delta among processes. They've done pretty well considering they had to go to Samsung.

That is all bullshit.

On 9/12/17 Lisa exercised 262.5K ($5.66 & 5.87 about split) and dumped them all for $12.34 & $12.53 along with an additional 62.5K.

On 9/8/17 Norrod exercised 25K ($2.61 was his price) and sold them all @12.26 along with an additional 37.5K shares.

I didn't look up Devinder, but his will be the same. They have all been both exercising and dumping all, along with additional.

The claim they are buying open market shares is complete nonsense.

What all is in Non-GAAP operating expense? Stock compensation and various one-offs??

It doesn't look so good that AMD is nearly as high as Nvidia, but way less profitable.

Thanks for clearing it up. It felt suspect. Still, I guess articles like this may move the stock price.

The MXM format was supposedly what AMD was selling to miners for dense mining configurations.

Another thing that's positive today is that AMD released another investor presentation, in which they reiterate the 2H 2017 launch schedule for consumer Ryzen Mobile (Raven Ridge). Some were starting to doubt it after the 12LP process news.

.....from one of those Market Realist series.....................AMD’s chief financial officer, Devinder Kumar, noted at the Deutsche Bank Technology Conference that the company has significantly reduced its quarterly operating expenses from almost $600 million in 2012 to ~$350 million in 2016 by prioritizing R&D spending on core areas. (that doesn't sound possible....nearly down a BILLION a year from 2012????)

doesn't seem possible it all came out of R&D..............and R&D will have to go back up some to remain competitive.......................but one thing I want to say...........I'm sure Lisa looks at all components of OP Ex and makes sure she understands them............it is no accident that OP EX went down so much...........and when it starts back up, it won't by accident either.

Sweclockers confirms rumour of limited availability for Coffee Lake until 2018:

"Those who wait for Intel Coffee Lake may have to wait longer than October 5th. According to information obtained by SweClockers, there is a shortage of new processors until after the turn of the year."

PS. The article confirms that motherboard availability is good, though. However, processors may not become widely available until mid-December, with volume in 2018. The source speculates that the effect of moving the launch earlier in time (it was originally scheduled for 1Q 2018), the launch of Coffee Lake now may have an Osborne effect on the Kaby Lake range, and due to poor availability, drive customers to the AMD platform, contrary to the intent of accelerating the launch.
