Good deal, thanks!
Anything that keeps me from having to drive over there to fix things will be a godsend.

Yep I hear you there and it beats the heck out of trying to do the repair over the phone as well!

You're not kidding there! I have a very hard time trying to describe how to do things in any OS over the phone without having that OS in front of me.
Not to mention the pitfalls of the differences between Snow Leopard and Lion. It'll be so much easier just to connect to her iMac and fix it myself. Or anyone else's Mac for that matter.
Woot!

Oh, yeah. That's probably the easiest way to do it. Thanks, Clean.
By the way, I created a long post in response to JFS, but got distracted and didn't hit submit. Your solution is easier than mine was, anyway.

I've got a problem syncing my calendar entries from either my iPhone or my iPad to my iMac. If I create a new entry on my iMac, it syncs just fine with the other two. If I create a new entry on either the iPad or the iPhone, it fails to sync with the iMac. However, it will sync with the other mobile unit--create a calendar entry on the iPhone and it syncs with the iPad but not the iMac.
So the iMac is able to push data to the iPad and iPhone but not pull data down.
Is there any obvious place to check to see the problem?
Thanks in advance for any help.

One problem I've had with calendar syncing is having multiple calendars. You might check on the Mac to see whether you have more than one calendar, and whether or not each is being displayed. In iCal, go to View, Show Calendar list.

I have an imac mini and use a HP F380 all-in-one printer. I tried scanning something and gave up. Next time I tried printing (and many times since) and instead of normal printing, I get a messed up page with parts of lines missing and top halves or bottom halves of lines cut off. I've gotten zero help from HP, as it's not under warranty anymore. The cartridge was working fine until I tried to scan. Both color and B&W cartridges have the same effect. I've tried cleaning cartridges, but they're clean. I think I uninstalled and reinstalled the printer
(I got Apple updates for the HP printer afterwards, so I'm assuming I uninstalled ok).
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

When you go through the cartridge cleaning procedure and it prints the test page, does it look OK?
I'm referring to the cleaning procedure built into the printer, not a manual one where you clean the cartridges yourself.

It didn't print a test page. How would I have it do that? Thanks.
