Also have a blue window that pops up unannounced that starts out :
Reload Tab
Pin as App Tab
Move to New Window
(several more options)

I've found if I wait maybe 20 sec. it will go away while I'm clicking away.

That behavior is normal. You're hitting the right mouse button (as opposed to the left), and a contextual menu is opening. Or, if you're using a trackpad instead of a mouse, you're probably doing the "two-finger" click, which also activates contextual menus. These behaviors can be turned off in the Mouse or Trackpad preferences.

I don't think that's it, unless I'm doing it unconsciously, and I doubt that since when I click left or right on the mouse when it happens, the window won't go away.

It has been happening less frequently, FWIW.

Well, those are definitely contextual menus that are popping up, so something is triggering them.

What you're saying about when it happens makes it sound like the mouse is the problem. Can you try a different one?

I'll pick up a new mouse when I'm near an electronics store.

Thanks for the advice.

Interesting if not scientific tell on the windows v. Apple platform. I started the thread about a year ago and there are about 375 posts. In the same period there were about 4669 posts on the "Computer Learning" thread, a help thread for windows.

A lot more people use Windows, which could account for the difference. But as an IT pro who has, among other things, supported both Windows and Mac computers, I can attest to the fact that Windows has a lot more problems, and that many of those problems are much more difficult to solve than Mac problems.
