Very possible we do see some kind of gold/silver rally for the next day or two, but I certainly don't like the feel of it, gold and silver both look very sick right now...

I'm staying long because gold hit my near term downside VP of 1659.40, so, I bought it, and I also bought some silver, so I'm sitting here scratching my head and wondering if those markets are ever going to rally off the VP or are they going to collapse completely... so, that's why I bought... it looks like they're trying to stge a rally, so we'll see...

So far so good but I'm also not sure if this is the real bottom or another smack down happens. It was quite brutal for the PMs... I'm just thinking from a risk reward perspective it's better to buy than sell.
This is also a good teaching on what will happens once the PM and commodity bull ends - just as what happened in the last two weeks. Bonds will go down hard, rising real yields above zero and that will sink commodities. Now the big question is when...

I don't know if higher rates will really sink commodities... everyone is saying that now, but everyone can't be right... actually, to me, higher rates are inflationary... potential home buyers will rush to buy homes before rates begin going higher, that would put a floor under the housing market and create a boom in the housing market and also raise the cost of homes and property... that's also inflationary... and since higher rates means it costs more to borrow money, then that's also inflationary... higher rates means higher prices all across the board, so why not gold and silver...

Also, higher rates means the federal debt will begin to increase since it now costs more to borrow from China... we can only resolve that by either raising taxes or printing more money... raising taxes to 100% will not make a dent in the debt, so you can count on the FED to print money until the cows come home, they have no choice, they're trapped...

The idiot bernanke said the economy is improving... so, why hold bonds as a safe haven, what he said was the trigger for bonds to collapse... I think he over played his hand and realizes he's not so smart... so, expect higher rates and inflation to show up, in fact it's already here in food and energy despite the incredible denials by the idiots in Washington...

You're right, I'm just saying "at some point in the future". Right now, we should et ready for another push up to new ATHs in commodities. I agree the bull is very likely not over yet.
Once the commodity boom is over (not yet!) and a general economic boom sets in, rising tax receipts will outstrip rising borrowing costs as they did post 1946ish, the last big bond bottom. So I do not expect rising borrowing costs for the government or private parties to cause an issue.

Yes, I fully agree with you on all points, but I don't think the boom in commodities is near over, I think it's only first beginning...

Just wait until after 12/2 /12 and all the planets line up in a row. It hasn't happened in 960,000 years and I remember all the terrible effects back then. Now that isn't bad enough but then the planet gets hit with a huge meteor in Feb 2013. Wait until you see the cost of commodities then.
