Canadian Stock Alerts - July 28, 2009 Canadian Stock Alerts Update: BEAR LAKE GOLD LTD - BLG.V @ .24 on 3.2 million shares traded This is similar to BIO MS MEDICAL (MS.TO), mentioned this morning. Similar in that a negative news release created a huge pullback in the share price to the tune of a 66% decline. BLG reported a few days ago that they were finding inconsistencies in their recent assay data. The stock was halted for a few days and opened today down 66%. It was trading recently in the .70's It's highly risky of course, just like MS was this morning. Anyone who bought my MS.TO alert at .32 did quite well .. it's now .41 and did hit .46 . So will BLG get back to .70 tomorrow, probably not. They will likely drift higher in the days & weeks ahead, remember from here a 20% gain is still only .29 .. so the upside can be large but this is clearly a risky play after the recent news. You have to know your own tolerance for these kinds of plays. The reward can be great, but not without the risk. Was BLG oversold like MS .. maybe, time will tell. Now that they have their $3 million in financing in place things have heated up. The volume is growing by the day and the share price keeps pushing higher. Their Palmer property I believe goes back to when CEM President & CEO Garfield MacVeigh was Chairman of Rubicon, just a few years ago. The Constantine Timmins' Ontario property (Munro-Croesus Project is a past-producing mine property that yielded some of the highest grade gold ever mined in Ontario) could easily become world class as well. I can't tell the the exact share price range, as it does fluctuate, but once you start to follow the pattern you'll see what I see. Birchcliff Energy can give you a .40 swing in price over a few days to a week with relative ease. Meaning that if you buy 2,000 shares, at the lower end of the range, you could net $800.00 I only say this to share what more sophisticated day traders are starting to do. Sure they can have a terrific day with Aura Silver Resources (like they did on Friday, watching it open at .15 & running to over .50). But many are also developing alternative trading methods, once they start accumulating some larger cash positions. There will be days when nothing seems worth trading, but then there is Birchcliff Energy as an example, that has come into your buying range, so you can trade that because you have studied it's pattern. And generally, but not always, it becomes a safer trade, because you bought it at the lower end of the trading range. Now, after saying that, I would welcome your suggestions of other stocks that fit that "swing trade" model. It's always nice to have 4 or 5 swing trade candidates at the ready.
