I fear you give too much credit to Massachusetts liberals. I'm sure if I were to call my oldest friends from the New England days (going back to 1972), they would remain staunch Obami supporters. Such is the way of the Massachusetts liberal.

I just got home from the cemetery helping to put flags on the veterans graves. My brother nor I are not veterans but helped my Dad, who was a Korean war era veteran, put flags out since we could barely walk. He is gone now and it is something Dave and I do out of respect for my father and the veterans.

The wind is cranking up (sucks) but it makes all of the flags stand straight out. It looks impressive. Oh, and it is hot here...81 on it's way to 100 today.

Take a minute this weekend and remember what Memorial Day is all about...

The fellow who was killed at Lodi last month was a veteran of over 1,000 jumps.

Lodi Parachute Center is a spooky place to take up the sport.

Your Veterans Day cemetery photo is worthy of a frame.

this is a tradition that i think is slowly dying out (sadly)

my husband's grandmother used to put flags and flowers on graves of family members and always managed to put out extra 'decorations' on graves that appeared to be forgotten....she always called it 'decoration day', she would literally spend the entire day placing flower arrangements and flags over the entire cemetary

i went with her once and i remember wondering at the time (early 20's for me) what on earth is she thinking....she would spend a lot of money on flower arrangements and flags (she was not a well off woman), but looking back, i am struck by her devotion and commitment to honor her family, veterans, and even strangers....she was an amazing lady

Thank you for remembering the true meaning of Memorial Day (weekend).

Just April, last year,2011. Arlington National Cemetery.

Now you got my crying but that's ok.

Just curious: I keep seeing these ads for My Pillow - Imus actually swears by it and had the guy who invented it on his show.

Has anyone here tried it? It's pretty expensive - $80 or so. Just wondering if it's any good.
