Actually this is a stimulating debate topic not un-like the classic death-penalty issue.
I fully agree, Cage. It's refreshing to have a reasoned discussion with someone on a divisive issue without enduring the usual name-calling from the Left. -g-
It's clear to me that we share many of the same views on this topic, and we are only separated on the particulars of how best to proceed.
I understand your logic, but I think the country is in angry demeanor where most people would endorse a much harder-line against illegals than they would have endorsed in 2008.
When citizens lose wealth and their jobs, and they see foreign, unentitled invaders getting free handouts and benefits at their expense, it angers them. I think that's why it's important to seize the issue now and opt for a stronger Tea Party Republican figure such as Bachmann who takes a very strong stance against illegals while the mood is right. I think even Romney would be a better choice than Gingrich or Perry.
Okay, I've beaten this issue up enough for now and I've made my thoughts well-known, so I'll give you the final word, my friend. -g-
Thanks again for a healthy, good debate, Cage! -g- |
