I was especially disappointed in the salmon filets my friend gave me. Her son caught them in the Alaskan waters near his home. He froze them in Food Saver vacuum packages, but the vacuum was lost when I got them plus they were getting a bit aged when she decided to give them to me. I was really looking forward to them. I wrapped them in foil with lemon juice and cooked them about 10 minutes per side. These were per instructions from my brother who lives in Florida and cooks fish all the time. I just think the fish was going bad by the time I got them. I'm up for trying it again, but never raw. I never figured out how people do that.

Okay, recipe modified:

grab a slab of salmon, pour some soy sauce and/or Worcestershire and dump some garlic powder on top.

If you got some onion powder, use that, it'll make it taste so good you'll want to cry.

Throw it on the grill, skin towards the flame.

When the skin is burnt, roll it over, cook for another minute or two, toss on a plate and enjoy!

My rule of thumb is that if you don't get dizzy, you aren't over medicating. BP is another one of these "nobody knows" things.

Thankfully, I am not on any maintenance meds for BP or cholesterol or anything else, never have been. Who knows, that could change. So, I am making serious improvements to my diet for starters. I know I have months to go before, or if, I discern any positive changes.

I am on BP tabs, and I check every couple of days now. What I find is that people with high BP don't check and when they get checked at the Doctor they blame high BP on "white coat flu."

NONSENSE

BP machines are cheap and easy to use. If you are on tabs, check weekly, at least. So easy to do, so dangerous if you don't.

I grill or microwave expertly.... or I eat out.

Since we know that eggs are a great food. I learned that the microwave can make great scrambled eggs.

beat one or two eggs and pour into microwave "egg-cup" or cereal bowel and cook for about a minute.

Perfect scrambled eggs with nothing wasted.

More quickly that that. It depends on the thickness of the fish. I recently poached a halibut filet, and I think it took about 15 minutes. Not long, after the water begins to boil.

or a soft cooked egg if you break the yoke. and cook 33 seconds on my micro. may i suggest you put a paper towel over the cup etc and i wet it a little to avoid exploding egg if over cooked. g

beats cleaning up a frying pan. a little spray oil on custard cup. later rinse out and wipe clean.

Frying egg tip for an easy to clean pan:

Let egg sit in hot tap water for a few minutes to let it come to room temp or a little higher.

Heat pan with a little water. When water evaporates, add oil.
Use correct temperature - easy to tell. Use olive oil - if it smokes it's too hot.

Fry egg

Egg "lifts" from pan when done and lifts right off with spatula.

Wipes clean.

And this is accomplished without a non stick surface
