I think this is finally the bottom and the dividend should be sustainable. Not sure about buying here though. I wouldn't be surprised to see an Apple funded Intel takeout offer in the works. Half cash plus half stock is how these games usual get played with long term value investors getting screwed in a highly dilutive manner. PJ will protect us though, won't he.

Buying under that scenario is more of a trade than an investment.

It's not only the "nice upside" potential but the low downside risk. Adverse impacts of the lawsuits, together with lower guidance because of non-payment of royalties are baked into the current price. I look at Qualcomm now as the kind of investment that would survive a market correction with less downside risk than other tech stocks, and possibly less downside risk than the S&P 500.

If Apple could only find another company willing to spend billions on R&D to make Self-Driving cars a reality I'm sure they would be happy to pay a small fee for a royalty license.

"experts" on CNBC talked Q down to the day's low between noon and 1:00 PM. Those who followed their advice already out about $1.00 per Qualcomm share.

There is obviously a lot of buying interest from long term individual and institutional investors for the stock to remain above $54.

Someone is confident enough to bet $5.25 M that this all gets resolved in Q's favor by next June.

I believe this time around, Qualcomm will not do what "Is good for the industry" but will do what is good for it's shareholders! Settle on royalty rates but court cases for most of the outrageous criminal violations of the law by Cook and company. Shareholders of Qualcomm have been damaged, Apple shareholder have not. Apple lies, Qualcomm does not! SteveM is a warrior! I repeat where are the Qualcomm shareholders lawsuits against Crook and company?
