The guys over at Andy's Gold Mime say they are going to double production this year...twice. From 100 to 200 tpd and then again from 200 to 400 tpd. Not sure if they are using a magic wand as the details on how that is supposed to occur are...sparse. At any rate, maybe they can wander over to dmm's site and exchange their secret sauce for quadrupling production in a year for sepllnig lesosns...

Not surprised.

More a labor of love than work :p

This wait feels like labor...without anesthesia. But at least the company knows how to spell the name of the country!

I acknowledge a major shortcoming of mine is a predisposition towards seeing the silver lining, which is why I think it is useful for me to have divergent opinions here. I may not agree with them, but at least it provides the opportunity to regularly revisit underlying assumptions. I would prefer that we were raising toasts instead of throwing bottles at each other and the sooner the better. The fact that we haven't seen anything since the Ecuacorriente deal is not particularly encouraging though.

I could have provided more detail on why I did not find your questions interesting but I was on the iPhone at the time and don't like trying to compose lengthy posts on that thing. Here is my fuller take on the questions you have posed:

- Stuff like timelines would be good to know.

Every indication I have gotten is that commercial production (I assume that is what you mean) is contingent upon receipt of a mining license.

- If timelines don't work how about "why a concentrator now and not 2 years ago"?

Personally, I would not ask this question because the answer seems so obvious to me. Putting a mine into production is a challenging undertaking. Mother Nature can throw lots of curve balls at you. The recoveries you get may vary from the lower-grade ore that they started with than what they saw when they put higher grade ore through the mill.

There are thousands of tweaks that have to be done. This is a big one, for sure, but they would not be doing it unless they think it is worth it. What if they ran into ore like they are seeing over at Andy's Gold Mime that averages 1 ounce per tonne? I posted a technical paper from Hemlo on this back a ways on this thread that discussed the need for a gravity concentrator to deal with big nuggets. Those are the questions that are more interesting to me regarding the concentrator.

The fact that it was not in place two years ago instead of now, I just don't know what value that information has. Meanwhile, it is not stopping anything, they are continuing to process the lower grade and stockpile the higher grade.

- Or "when was the concentrator started"?

We already know the general timeframe, I don't understand the value of having the exact calendar date.

- "When will it be completed"?

We already know the general timeframe, I don't understand the value of having the exact calendar date.

- "What was the date of that little old meaningless court order"?

Another question where I am failing to see the value that this would convey to me as a shareholder.

- "What roadblocks are absolutely required for commercial production to commence and when do they anticipate clearing those roadblocks?"

Every indication I have gotten is that commercial production is contingent upon receipt of a mining license.

Most of my answers to your "failures to see why" would be mostly "my curiosity".

Several like court order date are IMO germane in that depending how long it was between when they got the court order and when they told the public there may have been a trading advantage. It would be a withholding of material information.
Sadly it had to get to the point of me filing a complaint as that could so easily have been avoided by Dynasty giving me the date. I filed mainly because they pissed me off.

The concentrator question is part curiosity and part relevance. It may seem obvious to you why the concentrator and why now but there is another possible reason.
Sure it could be due mother nature or a happy accident where they are running into better ore. That would jibe with your tendency for the positive. It is also why I asked Dynasty that very question. -Which they did not answer-.
My tendency is to be curious. While I too usually assume positively I don't exclude the non-positive. The non-positive reason for the concentrator would be to reduce pollution. That would have a tie in with the court ordered production halt as it was due to alleged pollution.
It may also be why they won't answer my question about it.
Or it may not be. I don't know because they won't respond.

Typically what one gets from IR after a question about why a concentrator is suddenly needed, is an effervescent, enthusiastic tale of better grades than expected and increased recovery rates.
Silence is a bit odd.

So how do we know the general time frame of concentrator construction completion? Did I miss a posted date somewhere?

-Every indication I have gotten is that commercial production is contingent on receipt of a mining license.

Yes I realize that most think that and that is likely true but it is not an answer to the roadblock question. I don't expect you can answer that question tho I appreciate your attempt to do so.
I'm assuming there are many roadblocks of which the license perhaps being the most important one. Again curiosity. I'd simply like to know.
I'm a shareholder. I'm interested in my investment. Seems kinda natural to me to be curious.
I remember my dad telling me when I started talking I drove him crazy. All I said was, "why"? LOL.

No offense intended but while you may not see the relevance in some of my questions, I'm not asking them of you. The most you can do, like everyone else does, is give an opinion. Nothing wrong with that but opinions aren't answers.

Even if Dynasty also doesn't find my questions relevant so what?
They are, by and large, simple questions with simple answers.
Seems like it should be a simple thing to answer them.

Gone for a few weeks so a short respite from the dead horse flogging.

Good luck all.

Have a good trip!

Regarding the gravity concentrator rationale and timelines, they are in the last MD&A:

Additionally, in the fourth quarter of 2011 the Company commenced the construction of a gravity concentration circuit to enable the more efficient processing of mined material containing the higher grade coarse gold. The circuit is expected to become operational late in the second quarter of this year, providing certain equipment the Company has ordered from overseas is delivered on schedule. The Company is currently stockpiling the higher grade mined material until the gravity concentration circuit is operational.

In a world that provides such ample supply of stuff to be pissed off about, you're making an odd choice, imho ... and your style of approach, good lord, far too confrontational for the situation - anybody comes onto me like this, they wouldn't get the time of day, i'd instantly write them off same as any telephone marketeer

In re the concentrator - i've spent a fair bit of time around mills, mostly sawmills but they're mills, and i never saw one really finished, they're always either being upgraded or management would like to upgrade them further - none ever has the ultimate state of the art equipment of mgmt's peak desire, if it ever did then that state would only last a week and a half until somebody developed something twice as good and seventeen times the price ... even the layout of fair size mills can change, as they upgrade and change flow patterns to fit new machinery and/or new furnish and/or new capital to spend ... so i'm mildly curious about the exact reasoning involved, that's about it, see no cause for rage in the matter

Note that they haven't had any problem staying moderately cash-flow positive during this political waiting time, Knelson or no Knelson

First thing i remember of you, was an intense rage at Otto for selling and telling last year ... turned out a good call though eh, for every 10k sold then you could buy back over 17k now ... i too thought at the time he was wrong, fwiw, still don't regret having refrained from spending energy getting upset, it's just not worth it

Washer himself holds one out of every five shares outstanding, and he enjoys the confidence of other large holders, so good luck squabbling with them once you've got an antagonistic situation rolling ... same as with the far more important political layout down there, our chances of influencing outcome are absolutely nil, all we can do is make our own best guesses du jour and trade accordingly - if i were you, and had the attitude towards management that your words seem to me to indicate ['continuing lies' - wtf!], i would most certainly sell the position and move on, look for mgmt that imho performed better

Andy's Goaled Mime, lol ... gets quite fascinating sometimes eh, watching bulletin board promotions develop ... well they're not bulletin board anymore i guess, that non-exchange having required reporting for some time now, action today is on the pinks ... once upon a time it was the VSE, but that was before computers laid open easy access to so much of how scammers operate

The bstds almost got me divorced, a year or two into having my first computer, there was so much that was highly interesting, at the time non-reporting BB scams were being pumped right here on SI, stimulated a sort of territorial defence, whole crews of scam-buster vigilantes collecting information on them, and exchanging witticism ... some very funny threads from back then, of course you had to be there, too many timely in-joke references to make sense of now ... anyway, after some time of my brand new wife being disgusted at me staying up late, typing like fury, drinking beer and giggling at the screen, i was supposed to pick her up at one house in town and we were to go to dinner at another, people she would very much like to impress ... slipped my mind entirely, forgot all about it until hours later - the dialup stopped the phone from ringing and i'd left the cell in the truck ... so there came new rules, i soon dropped my standards for new jobs to the point where i was able to accept a couple, and the computer reverted to its original purpose of trading equipment

Talb*t was one of the figures from that time ... decade and a half later, still in business, that's just amazing

Semana Santa is over down south, officially and in reality - we got two little registration chores done by the powers that be this morning, efficiently and in record time, apparently, no problem

This was in southern Mexico but will be almost certainly the same in Ecuador - nothing much will have happened in government or the civil service since around 24mar, couple of weeks ago, today things start to get rolling, to the extent they ever do ... in a day or three it will be time to scan headlines again periodically ... sometimes i start with this link, their search works well for both newish and old articles -
