2/3 SET UP ... DOX ... Swing trade ........................

DOX is in a break out pattern after having been in a multi-month sideways trend. Pric is now experiencing the early Stage of what looks like a Stage 2 uptrend. On Wednesday, DOX formed a wide range bar on above average volume. This was followed by a narrow range bar yesterday above the wide range bar, indicating strength in a market that had a sizable pull back.

Entry target $33.47. Initial stop loss $32.40. Profit target $2.00 - $4.00.

>>> What is your threshold for low volume? <<<

I use a minimum daily average volume of 250,000 shares in my scans. An exception to this rule would be a stock priced above $40.00 and perceived to have terrific fundamentals. QSII would be an example as its daily average volume barely beats my threshold.

If you are looking at a stock priced under $5.00, I look for a minimum average daily volume of one million shares.

Dear Dabum,

Your words continue to be words of wisdom; and the major benefits of ny 5 weeks with you has been a severe decrease in impetuous behavior; and a slowly building diminishment of my lack of discipline and impatience - i did not buy CCJ yesterday, and true to your comments, it has not opened strongly.

Thanks as always, for this marvelous tutorial in real world realities.

i have read the Seven Deadly Sins, and will soon have read all the header posts. Then i will start to re-read them all, again. They, combined with the daily lessons of the postings, are the educational scholarship, you selflessly offer us. Much continued thanks.

Your friend,

mark

I sold my UBBPO puts for 3.85 average price this morning, with a basis of 3.52. This trade took about a week, but it worked out. The charts were not lying and the stock did turn around. It should wallow around there for a while. I reversed the trade and took advantage of the high option volatility premium and sold 20 contracts of the UBBNO for 80 cents. I would like to collect the 1600 bucks for waiting two weeks. The stock would have to drop another 4 points from the current 79 to 75, and then another 80 cents to 74.20, for me to break even. I think the odds are I will collect the premium and the options will expire worthless.

Do you have any targets on the Naz for just how low it could go during this correction?

Pivots: Prof Dabum. I am interested in what you are learning about pivots. Q charts will let you have daily pivots calculated a number of ways (trying Prev hi +prev lo + prev close/3 = 50.1). Right now 5 min N (inco) candles are up against the pivot price for today and the price seems to respect it as overhead resistance (at least for the last 20 or so minutes till now). A buy here if it passed through 50.11 would still be premature for your current system. When you have time and any info, I am hoping you can share it.

Professor DB - when would THOR qualify for a rebound in your view? You have posted several times on swing trades of stocks that get massacred:

Sir Dabum...on this chart for PTII, is today's very long candle still considered a spinning top? If so, after the long bearish candle of yesterday, does it signal a change in trend?

stockcharts.com

Also, today's volume is 1/4 of yesterdays, so I assume the bears are loosing control here. This co. only has 5.4 million shares out, and that much traded this week. Thanks in advance, and for all else you do for many of us. gparker
