I'm still interested. My wife is a "first responder" in our county. Sounds light weight on the first take, but she can't evacuate. So I'm left with the decision of leaving with the pets or staying.... with the wife left in the county info bunker, separated.

Not easy. I appreciate any info I get.

She may be relatively safe in the bunker is what I'm thinking.

True. But you don't really want to be apart in that situation. Plus I think she will suck as a first responder, but don't tell her I said that. (Seriously it really scares me the thought of leaving my wife behind when a serious hurricane is approaching. Don't know I could do it. I might make a stupid decision).

Could you convince her to quit? Tell her how you feel. Or you could join the first responders with her.

Fake an injury, when she responds, kidnap her.

I suspect you've already made that decision. Its not stupid unless someone gets hurt. I agree you should discuss your views and have a plan well understood long before hand. There are always issues to deal with at the last minute for instance a misplaced cell phone charger. Get the plan down and commit to execute when push comes to shove.

I have great respect for the effort that you put into forecasting. I know it is difficult to do, I try to do some of it myself.

You really helped me as I worked through my inner struggles with Igor bearing down on my position a few days ago. I just wanted to say thank you publicly for all the private support I got from you.

Regards, DD

Thanks Dan and I feel the same about you and your tropical knowledge is unsurpassed.I am sorry if I made that guy panic yesterday it wasn't intentional. As you know I can be quite sarcastic and my comments about the name Matthew was more a joke then anything else. I will be more careful in the future

Regards to you and yours,

Benny and the Jets

Frankly, I don't see how your quip about Matthew could conceivably be interpreted as alarmist unless the guy wanted to be alarmed in the first place. Keep up the good work.
