My three are:
1- Oil
2- Israel
3- Location of major oil reserves, and getting a foothold on the oil nations accompanying them

Re: Peter Fitzgerald's job is not Novak. That's for the Grand Jury to address. Am I incorrect on this?

My understand is that Fitzgerald is acting as a Special Prosecutor and that what he's doing is presenting his case to the Grand Jury. That involved Fitzgerald subpeoning and deposing witnesses and putting the witness on the stand for questioning in front of the Grand Jury. This is where Miller and Cooper refused to cooperate.

I have no idea what sort of a special deal Bob Novak was able to make with Fitzgerald, but the lack of prosecution of Novak stinks to high heaven.

But this stuff is so convoluted that I really don't have a clear picture of how this works.

I think Novak has already testified three times or so to another Grand Jury.
He is running quite scared IMO. He's already stated that he had two sources for his famous column. Would that include Libby and Rove, or Libby and Cheney, or Libby and Rove?
CNN also knows more about this situation than we do IMO.
It's rather insipidly humorous for we theorists.

Yes, Reid is playing his poker hand brilliantly. Bush wants Gonzales to fill in for Reihnquist. As a lame duck president at the end of his term Bush would have a hard time to get an extremist conservative nominee. He wants it now, and save Gonzales - which is easier to confirm - for later.

Bush will fall even if he rides a tricycle.

All I am saying is that if #2 were publicized,it would hasten Bush's removal.
Americans would NOT except sacrificing all of those lives for some other countries benefit.

I think Gonzales is a moderate. Once he is his own man, he might show his true color. Supreme Court appointments is always a gamble, you never knew how he/she will turns out. Just ask Eisenhower who said "his biggest mistake", or ask Bush I about Souter.

There are other extremists that Bush can appoint like Ashcroft, or take Bolton away from the UN and appoint him to the highest court (ooops, Bolton is not qualified).

Do you think if Rove gets convicted that Bush will pardon him?
That's a tough rhetorical question so rest easy.
For me Rove is Bush's heartbeat thingie. Every time Bush speaks without a Rove script he says such stupid things.

I think Bush will pardon Rove at the end of his term, otherwise all GOP's will clam down on Bush. Remember that 2006 is not far away and GOP wants to maintain control of both houses. If Rove is convicted I bet he will be at a halfway house or a plum place for confinement.

We will wait for the grand jury whose main objective is: was there a conspiracy to destroy Joe Wilson?.
