How do I mark the Last Msg Read? When I click on the box, it takes me to a saved msg. screen but does not "mark my last msg read.

I did click on "Mark as last read". I don't see how it is "marked".

It is for purposes of setting the next "Starting" point for boards you have added to your SubjectMarks.

It is "marked" internally within SI. Click SubjectMarks, and the post after that one, if there is one, will be the one from which the counter starts in the New column. If you want the one you read to come up first, mark as last read the one before the one you want to go back to.

When I look at siliconinvestor.com

It showed a post that was not to me, in the "Public Messages" section.

The post in question is Message 24725986

Also even though I've read it, it still shows up in my mail/inbox public messages.

Getting tired of seeing it, I just clicked on "remove" and it did leave my mailbox.

That happens occasionally. Just click Remove next to that post in your Mailbox.

SI Admin Dave: Its been years since this virtual "computer illiterate" old codger called on you for some help. Hope you can do it again.

I just got a new computer a couple of weeks ago, and in my efforts to participate as in the past on Big Dogs Boom Boom Room board, I find the Back button function not working properly. In addition, it seems that when each page is clicked up, that spaces usually occupied by your ads are corrupted with giant lettered incomplete advisory messages from "i"(icon) Internet Explorer cannot display the..(rest of message cut off due to size of fonts).

The only way I can get the Back Button to respond is if I click on it three times, which causes one of the ad spaces to disappear at each click, and then the final click takes the page back to the previous page.

Also, as I read and click to subsequent messages, their titles fail to change color on the message list from blue to red, which indicates that I have read them.

Otherwise I seem to be able to function on the boards, reading and posting as well as I have done in the past.

Hoping you will be able to get me straightened out here, and would request that your advisories in this regard are written "for the idiots" which might allow me to understand them <g> ....I've enjoyed my experiences on your boards very much over the years, esp. the "Boom Boom Room", and am anxious to continue. I turned 80 last September, and I firmly believe this board has been invaluable in helping me to delay the progression of noticeable memory loss as time goes by. Of course it should also be noted that I'm maintaining a better than expected rate of return on my energy investments, due in large part to the excellent, highly informative posts made to this great board.

Best regards,

Buck....AKA - buckbldr
