I never watch the Moore extremist liberal films. If he did an honest piece of work he would have mentioned that JFK was a life long member. Did he?

"OK City?"

Qualifies on the first count, but not the second, third or fourth. Which was kind of my point. Thanks.

"Switzerland? All military-age adults are REQUIRED to have a gun (supplied by the gov't) and ammunition (also supplied by the gov't and counted at regular intervals) and yet they have one of the lowest gun violence rates in the WORLD! Take THAT to the 'center' and post it!"

Perhaps it has something to do with the apparent high degree of regulation. (emphasis mine)

*if we had the evidence, this is what it would be.*

Right out of the Dan Rather school of logic.

He makes some excellent points.

Having the memorial service/convocation before the next of kin could identify the dead strikes me as odd.

"calling him a kid ... you can't handle ... your extensive experience in the medical field ... to argue in favor of gun control ... ending this discussion ... [NOT] ... smart ass comments ... get over it ..."

1) You're STILL hung up on the word 'kid' as if his being an adult gives him a political motive. Can you explain that or are you just nitpicking my word choice because you have no relevant argument to offer?

2) I don't give a damn if you call him an adult. His adulthood isn't relevant to motive in this case. Is it?

3) I don't need to be a psychiatrist to see that a college kid who leaves deranged notes about the 'debauchery' of 'rich kids' and 'charlatans' to justify a shooting rampage that killed 33 people, beginning with a girl who was either his ex or his stalking target, and ending with himself was 'unhinged.' Do you really think there's any chance he was mentally stable?

3') 'Unhinged' and 'deranged' are not legal terms either. I am not even implying, much less asserting, an insanity defense so before you pick that nit, don't.

4) I'm not "hanging on to [any] notion" to make a case for gun control. You and I haven't even discussed gun control - you've been too busy nitpicking over the word kid. And I was responding to Bill's "political motive" assertion when you jumped in with your pointless nitpicking of the word kid.

4') But since you brought it up, it is doubtful that any modest gun controls such as waiting periods or background checks can catch situations like this because prior to the shootings and certainly when he bought the guns weeks earlier he had apparently not committed any crime or threatened anyone, and as the report I cited earlier explained, experts in cases such as this say that it is virtually impossible to identify these perpetrators in advance through any kind of psychological profiling.

4'') If you'd read the news, you'd know that even the Democratic leadership knows this and have expressed doubts that this tragedy makes a case for tighter gun controls. An no, use of the word 'tragedy' here is not some kind of librul blame shifting, so before you try to play that card again, don't. Try looking the word up instead.

5) If you want to end an argument, either have a valid and relevant point or just quit. Saying "I'm ending this discussion here" 3/4 of the way through an argumentative post is nothing more than a weak assed attempt to get the last word. Continuing on for several more lines of nonsense after you say that is just funny.

So, it is a fact that the killer took these drugs?? I haven't heard the most recent press briefing. Did anyone in the investigation say he was taking these specific drugs?

I did hear someone on the radio offer this as a possibility for his actions.

The only thing I've said definitively about his motive was that it wasn't solely about his "girlfriend". That was your theory.
I said his motive could possibly be political, which you called ridiculous. And if he mentioned political issues in his written manifesto -- like class, race or gender -- I'd say that's more evidence that your little tantrum on this is unwarranted.

Yes, it does. There will a good amount of CYA by those connected to this "tragedy".
