| Historically, compatriots who join the enemy during wartime tend to be treated worse than the enemy. If caught, they find themselves in imminent trouble... and get shot or hung from the nearest tree. Of course, we live in more civilized and sophisticated times, but if things get more serious, like if we suffer repeat attacks... it won't take long until we'll change our notions of due process towards traitors - back to some old and tried ways of the past. |
