I wondered the same thing. What changed to make this seem smart to them. Did they slip some provision into the tax code to make it pay?

Jay Severin is on Boston's Talk 1200 radio right now. He is a talk show host who spent 20 years running campaigns, so he has interesting insights on politics & campaigns. He says that last night was 2010 redux; a disaster for Obama down the line. He's only sorry there weren't more contests. Lugar losing in Indiana and traditional marriage winning in North Carolina are the main items. But Jay is pointing out a couple of signs the media might miss:

In last night's primary in Wisconsin, 2 Democrats ran for the chance to oppose Gov. Walker; Walker ran unopposed. So you would expect more Democrats to vote than Republicans, since there was no contest on the Republican side, right? Twice as many Republicans voted as Democrats.

In the North Carolina primary, Barack Obama ran unopposed. 1 in 5 Democrats voted for "Other".

In the West Virginia primary, Barack Obama ran unopposed. 41% of Democrats voted for a felon serving time in Texas over Obama (the felon had paid $2,500 to get on the ballot).

Romney had a long bruising primary and his defeated opponents don't even have the grace to endorse him properly. Romney has a double digit lead among independents already despite that.

When pollsters ask, is the country on the right track or wrong track? Wrong track outnumbers Right track by 2 to 1

Tracking polls currently put Romney over Obama by 5%. More importantly, Obama's job approval has been consistently under 50% for two years now. Obama will not win the majority of the undecided voters -- it's an axiom of politics that undecideds always break against the incumbent at least 7 to 3.

Yesterday, Jay put the odds of Obama losing in a landslide as 1 in 3. Today he's sounding even more confident.

As far as I know Paul is the only one who hasn't endorsed him. And he hasn't dropped out yet. What does this guy want?

Netanyahu now has three past IDF Chiefs of Staff in his coalition.

I don't think anything but posturing is going to happen on the Palestinian front. Even if the PA did a 180 and recognized Israel's right to exist as a Jewish state (highly unlikely), with the entire region in turmoil conditions for diplomacy could not be more adverse.

White House: Abortion OK, But Visitors Must Register Unborn Children by Steven Ertelt | Washington, DC | LifeNews.com | 5/8/12 12:57 PM

lifenews.com

The Obama administration is plenty content with legalized abortion and funding abortions with taxpayer funds, but when it comes to Americans visiting the White House, they must register their unborn children when they check in at the front door.

The Director of the White House Visitor’s Office, Ellie Shafer, today distributed an email newsletter to members of Congress and others providing detailed instructions on how to register an unborn child (“a baby that has not yet been born,” as Shafer puts it) into the security system the White House uses to arrange group tours.

“We have received a number of calls regarding how to enter security information for a baby that has not yet been born,” Shafer wrote. “Crazy as it may sound, you MUST include the baby in the overall count of guests in the tour. It’s an easy process.”

According to the National Right to Life Committee, which obtained a copy of the newsletter, the White House spells out how “the baby’s security information should be entered” into the White House system. Staff must include such details as the baby’s sex, if known.

“GENDER: if the parents know put that gender down if not, you can enter either M or F as we’ll ask you to update it at the time of birth,” the instructions say. All of the information should be updated “once, the baby is born,” the newsletter instructs.

Douglas Johnson, National Right to Life’s legislative director, commented on the juxtaposition between the White House visitor log policy and its abortion policy.

“It is ironic that President Obama’s staff recognizes the existence of unborn babies for purposes of providing security within the White House — yet, there is no indication that President Obama has any problem with the fact that throughout the District of Columbia, abortion is now legal for any reason up to the moment of birth,” he told LifeNews.

“Notably, the newsletter provides no guidance on what the staff should do if an unborn baby is first registered for security purposes, but then aborted,” Johnson added. “On May 17, the House Judiciary Constitution Subcommittee plans to hold a hearing on the District of Columbia Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (H.R. 3803), which would generally prohibit abortion in the sixth month and later in the District. If the President wants to provide for the security of the unborn child immediately outside of the White House gates, as well as inside, he should endorse this bill.”

The full email appears below:

We have received a number of calls regarding how to enter security information for a baby that has not yet been born.

Crazy as it may sound, you MUST include the baby in the overall count of guests in the tour. It’s an easy process.

LAST NAME: The family’s last name

  • FIRST NAME: “Baby” as a first name
  • MIDDLE NAME: NMN as in No Middle Name
  • DOB: Use the date you are submitting the request to us as their birthday
  • GENDER: if the parents know put that gender down if not, you can enter either M or F as we’ll ask you to update it at the time of birth
  • SOCIAL: As they will not have a SSN and are under 18, you will not need to enter this field. Again if the spreadsheet asked for a social enter 9 zero’s (not the word nine zeros but 000000000 and yes it happens!)
  • CITIZEN/CITY/STATE: The citizen, city and state should be entered the same as the parents

Neither Santorum nor Gingrich endorsed Romney properly. Gingrich said he was better than Obama. Santorum endorsed him by email. Neither said, I endorse him and will work for his victory.

We will see, he probably will emulate Ford and Nixon. In fact Nixon was the first to show me that many Republicans are also Communist when he ordered that hiring freeze.
